I am back with another video with lots of information about the student permit to work permit conversion. Recently, I met Ashutosh Singh (aashutoshsingh..., an IYT scholar in Itlay, who successfully converted his student permit to work permit. So, I thought of interviewing him to share his experience on how he made it happen.

I'm always surprised that Indian students don't understand they'll need to have at least a basic understanding of Italian to get a job. If you go to France - you'll need to speak French. If you go to Germany - you'll need to speak German. If you go to Italy.... Yes, you'll need to learn Italian

Yes. Getting a job for fresher is difficult, not just in India, but almost everywhere. So you need to put that extra step to excel. My sincere recommendation is to start learning Italian from the day you land here. Plenty of free language classes available here. Good luck.

@@LetsTravelliamo completely correct. Kudos to you for all of your hard work contributing to Milans international community with useful information and guidance. I have worked in Milan for many years and have several Indian friends in the city. They generally fall into 2 categories when graduating university; 1) those who learn the language and recognise they may well need to take an unpaid internship to be competitive with some work experience on their CV. 2) those who don't learn any Italian and say "there's no jobs in Italy" when what they really mean to say is; 'i didn't learn the language, nor acquire any work experience and my parents can't get me an interview here on virtue of nothing'. More than 70% of under 30s in western Europe have some form of higher education, simply having a degree isn't enough to get a job anymore in the west. It's that simple

Thank you!! You have summarized well. Yes, many think that English is all needed to survive here. In somecases yes. But then you will neither get into locals circle nor socialize. Language is key.

Thanks for the valuable information! I've done the same process but just a part of it is not clear for me. The company should apply for the website and pay 100Euro for the stamp. I didn't see this step somewhere and I'm a bit confused about it. I asked the required info of the company and filled the Nulla Osta online application by myself.

@@BeckulekuCham yes they ask for the proof of residence, I took the paper that they gave me from comune, something with name like "auto certificazione..."

You can apply if your company gets nulla osta for you. Then use that and get your work visa.
