May our Ancestors bless you for this Video... I broke out from Jehovah's Witness to embrace my own traditional religion and I got hated by so many people including my family and people I used to call my Christian brothers and sisters. Many of them told me I will never succeed in life and I will regret my actions but I always pity them because I know the pitiable stage they've found themselves unknowingly. To be sincere, it was actually when I left christianity, I realized the bondage I was into many years back. Our people really need to be liberated... I am happy to know someone like you exist... Thanks for sharing... Yagaziere gi Nwannem.

My fault for responding to an old comment but its so obvious how they try to push a whitewashed way of life onto you in that religion. A white man could always have hair on the longer side but any time my hair was over an inch long they'd look at me like I was crazy and preach about "dress and grooming". Not to mention how they looked at my brother when he got braids. And when you apply to bethel they have a question on the form asking if you listen to rap music🤦🏾♂️ so much more bs its not even funny. Being out of it its so clear to see that religion is just a gokd old boys club meant to appeal to white American men

I'm Igbo however I was born outside of Nigeria, I understood Igbo but I couldn't properly speak it, through immersing myself in the Igbo language, I learnt about Odinani, and so many cultural practise made so much more sense when I learnt more about Odinani, I truly think the religion will be more well-known if many decide to properly immerse themselves in the Igbo language. Jisike!

@Paleobc65 Same thoughts with me also bro, because I am still in research about those traditional we have in here Africa but I am mainly focused on the igbo and Yoruba culture… From my findings the yoruba has more of those ancestors, like the ifa, orumila, osun and the likes.. The Igbo traditional culture i know is the chi and ofor…. i don’t know if the Igbo has more of it they still practice?? @tobesigwe6171 As a Igbo guy born and brought up in a Yoruba land, is it okay if I practice both the Igbo and Yoruba culture???

@Ezeikolomuo2 жыл бұрын
Christians who pray in English, is English the first language of christian founders? You must know that language is a physical construct. So, there is no language spirits do not understand. If you pray to your ancestors in French they will understand you clearly. What matters in prayer to spirits is who you are addressing, the language is not really relevant. If it will make you feel any better, I pray to my ancestors and Igbo gods with English when I feel like. Learning Igbo is a plus not a mandatory step towards aligning with your ancestors. By the way, it is not the Igbo we speak today that our ancestors spoke. Igbo like many languages is dynamic and subject to constant change.

@@Ezeikolomuo “Linguistic imperialism has a significant impact on cultural identity, influencing how communities perceive themselves and their place in the world. Language is a key component of cultural identity, and its suppression can lead to a weakening of cultural ties and traditions. As the dominant language becomes pervasive, it can result in: Diminishing of traditional customs and practices, as they are replaced or overshadowed by those of the dominant culture. A shift in values towards those more commonly associated with the dominant language and culture, potentially undermining indigenous beliefs and practices. The development of hybrid identities, where individuals blend or navigate between cultural identities, sometimes leading to feelings of displacement or loss.”
