Boy groups generally don’t do well on digital charts, even for long long debuted senior boy groups, let alone a newly debuted boy group. It’s nearly impossible. It hasn’t happened for a very very long time for a boy group to chart this high, and not to mention, a DEBUT SONG. TWS’s Plot Twist went against all odds despite being a newly debuted boy group, charting this high on all major korean charts, this secures their position on music shows and general public interest as well. If you are into kpop for long enough, you should already know that TWS’s achievement is mega hyper impressive. There’s no rookie group right now that can compete with them with their mega hit debut song. ROTY is pretty much secured with like 99.9% at the year end award no matter how many groups debut later this year, because this achievement is almost a record and timeless for a boy group debut. Also, this song is probably up for SOTY as well. I’m not even exaggerating. Plot Twist has been in top3 and top2 on all korean major digital charts for weeks without fail even with new release after release. It’s sitting rock solid stable on the top position, and it’s only March now, I believe the song will stay in top5 or top10 throughout the year, this song has already infected the general public in SK, it will not go down on charts so easily any time soon.
