For patients with Thalassaemia major, requiring frequent blood transfusions. Do you believe pro-erythrocytic cells could be utilised ? Since intravenous EPO would only lead to a higher proportion of defective erythrocytes seen in Thal major

Hi Doctor, I am 30 Years old. My HB level has been around 11 Gm for a very long time. Apart from this, the levels of MCV, MCH, MCHC are also less than normal. But the RBC level remains very high at around 5.5 lakhs. I have tried iron , vitamin B supplements and good Diet for a long time, but the CBC reports do not change(Improve) much. Could this be a serious problem? Please guide me about this Problem. I will be very Thankful of you...🙏

I'm seeing one because I have an enlarged spleen with no apparent cause. The Hemotologist is going to find out why.. so nervous!!
