I had a huge crush on Diane Franklin in The Last American Virgin. I was 17 in 1982. Still one of my fave 80s movies. Realistic and hard-hitting ending that i loved but that my mates all hated.

I met her at a Horror Movie Convention a few years back and She was Hands Down the most Pleasant Outgoing person I ever met. I also told her my story about taking a public transit bus twice a week 14 miles from my house to see Her in "The Last American Virgin" at this small two screen theater. Wonderful Lady ! ❤

I absolutely love Better off Dead and am so happy it continues to live on as a cult classic. My teenage kids and I just watched it this past weekend and it was easy to love Diane's character all over again. The entire film feels so under rated and under valued. They checked every box in that movie, acting, humor, teen depression in a light manner, a come back story with landing the RIGHT girl in the movie! I have and will always be fond of this movie and can't thank everyone involved with it enough!

One major thing I noticed You let HER do most of the talking, so many interviews the host interrupts and doesn't let the person being interviewed speak. We know you are awesome Kurt or we wouldn't be here on this channel, but for this video we wanted to see and listen to her, you did just that , you did a wonderful job with your questions and letting her speak. as always AWESOME!!!!!!! I predict you will do many more interviews with other actors, actresses from the 80's because of your passion, thoughtfulness, kindness and sharing your love for the 80's with all.

The thing that made last american virgin such a gut punch ending was she played Karen as the "nice girl" who at first blush was being used by the stereotypical jerk guy that needed "saved" by nice guy Gary, and in the end her character was like nope! I like the bad boy even though he treated me like dirt..haha. Very few movies have ever ended on a downer like this one. She is right it did teach some guys about unrequited love and you cannot make a girl like you, no matter what you do. The film was way ahead of its time in a way. Back then, all movies made it so the nice guy carrying a torch for a girl was sweet and romantic and the nice guy won. This film turned that concept completely on its head. But the sound track was just amazing too! You can watch it just for all the early 80's hits.
