One of the very rare authentically catholic bishops in Australia. That’s probably why he’s not a cardinal, which itself is a scandal.

There is a rumour anyone who knows and close to Cardinal Pell cannot get the red hat during this papacy. It's not the end all and be all of clericalism. The bishop of Bogor a Franciscan has declined his red hat for 5th December consistory

What I like about the Archbishop is that here is a man of tradition but still capable of being a post Vatican 2 priest. This is how I see the way forwards.

I am happy that the pope has done a great thing taking the church one step forward, being a Catholic from India and the priests and bishops should take this to the ordinary faithful, although I'm not a church-going Christian and spent nearly 8 years in franciscan order. 🎉

@@karlheven8328 Does this “malintent” assumption apply for this Synod? I see a lot of rash judgement and evil suspicion towards it. A fear that women will be ordained? The same fear voiced at the Amazon Synod? Pope Francis adding it to canon law as an automatic excommunication didn’t ease this fear? Did you assume malintent with me? There are a lot of Catholics that only listen to people that accuse Pope Francis of this or that. These people have been groomed to have no desire to the possibility he might just be innocent or their accusations. I find that mentality disturbing. So yes, the Church is against the Accuser of the Brethren. Read Donum Veritalis. It’s a great Magisterial document.
