I had the good fortune of meeting and unbelievably playing pool with Buddy Guy at his club in Chicago. in my opinion Buddy is in the top 5 guitar players. Anyway, we were chatting really casually and without thinking at some point I asked him about his friendship with Stevie. I instantly regretted it as he just stopped and went quiet for a few seconds. "There'll never be another" was his response. It was clear he had a genuine love for him.

On Stevie being angry over BB King opening - THAT is why the people who knew him, loved him so much - he was respectful of everyone, and never forgot where he came from, and who was there before him. Anyone who has seen the In Session video of him and Albert King that was recorded for Canadian TV can see that.

These guys praised Stevie when they were also special. They are the whole package as well. They added to their music, are humble, loving like brothers who lived each other. They speak so wise and beautifully. As we miss Stevie, these guys are special and still here and I hope they perform again maybe with Quinn Sullivan. Then again do they not feel it will ever be the same to perform without Stevie. I hope they do since I enjoy them as well as Stevie. Doyble trouble wouldn’t be the whole package without Chris and Tom.

To Chris and Tommy, I am so proud of you. So soft spoken and honest. I used to see you all in the mid 70’s and of course loved what you were doing. I was from the DC area by the way but eventually moved to Richmond to attend University. One day when your first big record came out I was at the right place at the right time and saw Stevie trying out a few guitars at a shop called Sweetie Peeties. The folks that owned the music shop also owned a record store called Plan 9 in Richmond Va. After trying out a few guitars they brought a copy of your first big album for Stevie to sign which he did. Of course they thanked him, and what has always struck me, was his heart felt response.... no... thank you!!! I will never forget that. A man of true humility!!

KZbin comments these days are mostly people insulting each other or calling each other racist at the same time somehow lol... I wish we could just filter all those out. Stevies' Spirit Was SO Special - So Dear....You Could Always Feel It Coming From Him...& He Still Lives In The Hearts Of All Those Who Were Fortunate Enough To Be Touched By Him During His Too Short Life! I Believe It Came From The Same Heavenly Source As His Unique Musical Gifts - Stevie Was Special From The Very Beginning, Just Like Tommy Said! He Clearly Loved GIVING To People - Joy, Entertainment, Compassion, & LOVE! He Spent The Last Years Of His Life Sharing His Own Story Of Addiction & How Precious Life Is, Warning His Audiences To Make SMARTER & HealthierChoices About Drug & Alcohol Use & Leaving Them Behind - & Stevie KNEW What He Was Talking About! They Grab Ahold Of You & You No Longer Have Your Own Will! Bless Him For Caring About People So Much & For Being So Open With The Hardest Stuggles Of His Life - Another Gift Stevie Had...He Was Here For A REASON - Even Beyond His Incredible Music! I Still Miss Him & Think Of Him Often - I Am Also In 12Step Recovery....17 Years In AA - I Told Stevie How Absolutely Amazing It Was What He Was Doing To Address His Lifelong Struggle w/ Addiction @ & His Live Shows! I Remember That Show @ Red Rocks...I Was There - I Was So Thrilled To Hear BB Live, Stevie Did Have So Much RESPECT & For His "Elder" Blues Musicians - Those Who Taught HIM How It's Done! GREAT Show, Great Memories! And Stevies' Supportive Words Of Encouragement Come Back To Me When The Stuggle To Stay Sober Gets Really Tested, Which Is Does All Throughout Life! It's Very Comforting - As Is His Beautiful Song "Life Without You"...It Has Helped Me With Grief In My Life, Especially Stevies' Death....He Knew.....! Soul💞Soul, Stevie!❤😘

These Guys Were On The Same Wavelength From The Minute The Met Each Other - Which Is Why Stevie Didn't Want To Leave Them "Behind" & Tour With Bowie (Good Call, Stevie - You Didn't Need Him!!) Double Trouble Was His Baby! They Would Have Jumped In Front Of A Train For Stevie - Thank God They All Followed Him To Rehab & Recovery From Their Heavy Addictions To Alcohol & Cocaine... A LOT Of People Came To Recovery Because Of Stevie - He Would Be Happy About That Because He REALLY CARED About People & About Them Not Living In The Hell Of Substance Addiction That He Had Fought Thru! I Miss Stevie To This Day - & Hearing Him & These Guys Live! I Saw Them For The Last Time On July 17 Of 1990 & They Were SO Fucking Good!!! Stevie Was So On🔥🔥🔥 - So Full Of Life & Played With So Much Abandon & So Much Pleasure!! They Had Gotten SO GOOD Over The Past Years Since They All Came Out Of Recovery In Early 1987 - Reese Too Was Absolutely AMAZING!! Thanks For These GREAT Memories, Guys!! I Still Shed A Tear When I Miss Stevie - But I Remember That He Left Us CLEAN & SOBER, & HE WORKED DAMN HARD FOR IT!! I have to admit I might've gotten a little teary-eyed watching this. Of course we all know the kinda dude Stevie was (the man, the 'myth' the legend, stp), but his compadres seem like pretty cool cats themselves. They of course weren't the ones in the spotlight the way he was ('cause let's face it, there is only one Stevie, and, well...it speaks for itself), but, I think they have earned a little recognition themselves, and, I can see why Stevie loved and respected them so much. Wonderful , honest, and heartrending to listen to these two guys, talking of their late great fellow musician, who earned every word of adoration from them, He truly was a genius of a guitar player, and yet he still lauded all these other musicians like he was a student who still had much to learn, What a nice man Stevie was.We miss him so much,

Both just confirmed what I always thought. Just something special going on when he played. It's a little crazy that it's not lost even when watching him on a screen.

These guys are pure CLASS! what a very special group of guys that understood each other so much they all played in amazing HARMONY. without a plan, just winging it every night. You can definitely see how these 2 blended so well with STEVIE, they all seem to be the nicest and calmest guy. Just like STEVIE.

We all come from somewhere in life that we truly never will be discovered or made known..but..we find a way to exist among others..Stevie Ray Vaughan is the greatest guitar player and singer and professional on stage of all time..and the band and people he made association with understood all that ..SENSATIONAL..

This is so cool hearing Chris and Tommy talk about Stevie Ray. It's not like we don't appreciate Double Trouble. The first time I ever saw or heard Kenney Wayne Shepherd play was at an SRV Memorial Ride & Concert. Arl., Tx Tommy and Chris were playing with him. So excited to see them. They were doing "King Bee" when I walked in and just froze. Wow. Shockingly close. It's mostly at the end of songs when you see band members give each other a glance or gesture. Tommy and Chris keep a close eye on Stevie Ray the whole time. I've noticed that. They never knew where he was going to go or what song comes next. 😮They say it like that was no big deal. Awesome. BB King's band was real sharp like that. Watching him. I just say that it's magic too, Chris. When people ask how does he do that? It is facinating watching Stevie Ray play up close. But his fingers moving like that still don't seem to match all those sounds we're hearing. 😊✌💙

Seeing Layton and KWS at Experience Hendrix along with Buddy Guy and so many more! At certain times someone takes the lead and the crowd responds and there is a give and take between crowd and performers each one sustains the others with energy. This special concert moments, when it was happening Layton would get this look like this is what we had all the time, every time we took the stage. Some shows have that for a moment, surfing a peak wave on energy. You could see that spark in Chris, this is what we do it for, it is who we are. The SRV shows baptized people in that, wave after wave!
