Great segment and thanks for posting. I wonder if his wish to break down the different barriers of classical music (not to mention jazz) were successful? He must have come under a lot of ridicule in his time. I'd like to think that as time goes by that people have been able to be less uptight and appreciate the various wonderful things that each school of music has to offer. Although I wouldn't consider myself in the "classical world", I have had my share of dealings with people in that field. Unfortunately, most have been very arrogant and condescending and not able to see beyond their particular niche. Very disappointing.
