I am a teacher in the Philadelphia suburbs and I assign a Vietnam War oral history project to my students. From what I have seen in hundreds of interviews, this man's quiet humility and under-stated bravery are indicative of the men who served our nation in Vietnam and never got the credit they deserved. Thank you Mr. Jordan - you are a hero. I am using this interview to introduce my students to the experience of real "grunts" in Vietnam.

Thank you Mr. Jordan, not only for walking into that Hell, but for the courage to serve even today as your story is shared through this interview. Semper Fi. I do have to say that I wish the interviewer had a little better knowledge-base before the interview. I understand that this would be difficult, but knowing a bit more going into the interview process would help things go smoothly.

I love the modesty of these vids....Everyone downplaying their valor.... "Yeah I enlisted, we went to basic, then we did this, became grunts, went over there, had some run ins with the enemy.. And ten the unit made out ok. I got my orders... into denang... then came home.

Mr. Jordan, I am named after my uncle(Lcpl James Taylor) who also served in Vietnam. I believe he served in 2nd Battalion 1st division G company. He was killed in action on July 5th 1968. My dad tells me that he too was a radioman. I am writing you an a the small chance you might have known him. He was from Miami, tall, blonde, and blue eyes. Would love to hear from you even if you didn't know him.
