Very rare interview with DISSECTIONs Jon Nödtveidt from Swedish National Radio.
This interview was published in the program Slammer in SR P3 back in 1993.
DISSECTION had just released their debutalbum The Somberlain at the time.
Interviewer is Candlemass-mainman Leif Edling.

The guy interviewing Jon is Leif Edling of Candlemass. I remember this and have it recorded on tape somewhere. I recorded a lot of the metal interviews Leif did on national radio around 1992-1995.

If you have any questions feel free to message me). 1:58 Radio host: ”Heaven's Damnation” with Dissection, a group from Strömstad that nowadays live in Gothenburg. Dissection plays dark metal, the new debut album is called ”The Somberlain”. Slammer's Leif Edling called the guitarist and vocalist Jon Nödtveidt just before the broadcast and asked about Dissection's musical direction. 2:24 Jon Nödtveidt: Musically, you could classify us as a death metal band... or as a black metal band. That's up to the listener. I'm not one for categorizing music actually. Nowadays there are higher requirements on a death metal band. 2:42 Leif Edling: And Dissection has that? (Ie, D lives up to those requirements?). 2:45 JN: That's not for me to decide. I'm not the right person to answer. I make music only for my own pleasure. It's the type of music I want to play. I'm not like... 100% satisfied with everything I've made... I mean... 3:03 LE: But you're satisfied with the record, on the whole? JN: On the whole, I'm quite satisfied actually. LE: Nice.. 3:07 JN: But I always want to evolve. That's what I strive for, personally. You want to get better and better. 3:14 LE: And the songs are long too. JN: Yes... LE: That's quite unusual for a death band... 3:21 JN: Yes, but.. when we've made long song it's not like we have sat down and planned it. They've come when I've had many ideas in my head, so I've put the songs together in a way that I thought sounded good. [3:38] You shouldn't shorten or lengthen depending on what you think other's opinions are. 3:44 LE: It's quite brave with an opening song like "Black Horizons" on 8:10. 3:49 JN: Yeah, that's the longest on the record too. And it's a quite... how to put it... it's quite epic in it's structure. 3:58 LE: You have a Norwegian-sounding name, and you're from Strömstad which is quite close to the Norwegian border. Have you been colored (ie influenced) by all the Norwegian black metal bands? 4:11 JN: There's a band... or there was band... called Mayhem, that atleast me and Ole (Öhman) have as our absolute favourite band since many many years ago. And also that we knew the guitarist - Öystein... Euronymous... has influenced quite a lot too. [4:33] We have always listened to Mayhem, and that has definitely influenced us, together with everything else we've listened to and thought was good. 4:41 LE: You're dedicating the record to his memory: JN: To his memor... yeah. 4:46 LE: But you don't have any direct affiliation to the black metal branch... 4:52 JN: No, not the band itself. This is... our view is that we separate between music and personal views. And also like... religious views. I mean, if you go to a pizza baker you don't care if he's a muslim or whatever as long as his pizzas are good. LE: Exactly... 5:09 JN: That's how it should be with music too. If the music is good you shouldn't give a shit about the rest. [5:14] We want to bring forth feelings in the listener. I'm not sure how well we succeed, but... We want to bring forth gloominess, darkness, an evil atmosphere and... make it as fateful as possible. That's what we think is the meaning behind our music.

There is a translation in the other comment above if you still are intrested. Basicly he makes music he likes and it should be as dark as possible. He don't give a fuck what others think of it. They got some inspiration from mayhem.
