Interview with Kazuki Yamada vol.3 - About the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra

This is the third and final installment of our interview series with conductor Kazuki Yamada.
In this segment, we discuss his upcoming debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at their regular concert in June next year.
Upon hearing the news of his engagement, Yamada exclaimed, "I was surprised. I shouted 'Wow!' and was thrilled for about five seconds.
But after that..." he tightened his expression. With about a year remaining until the performance, we sat down with him to discuss his thoughts and feelings leading up to this significant event.

ベルリンフィルは、新進かつ若手で、これからが「伸びしろ」って指揮者。割と抜擢されること機会 案外、多いですからね。ゲストでも二度、三度。呼ばれるよう、なって欲しいですね。誰？？とは申しませんが(笑) 日本人指揮者でも一度きりで、それ以降、呼ばれてない方？？バイロイトでもいらっしゃいますから(笑) それが、楽団が彼に下した指揮者としての「評価」だということでしょうから
