I have supported animal rights causes for decades. When the greens came into parliament I mistakenly thought they supported animal rights but then I saw their discrimination towards animals that they considered not indigenous. I stopped supporting green causes because I saw their cruel and bias actions towards our brumbies. I saw the contradiction in their values and bias towards the interests of all Australians. I saw the negative impact they had on political issues just to support their own party and increase their favour. Our brumbies are part of the Australian cultural heritage, they are loved globally for a reason. The brumbies belong to all Australians, let them live. Every living being that has migrated to this continent, be that 100 or 1,000 years have the right to call this land home. Brumbies have earned their right to life. They help our ecosystems.

Thanks Peter and Sonia. A very informative video. My question to the government would be that if our High Country has survived (and thrived) with more than a century of brumbies being there, why all of a sudden is there this urgent and drastic need to remove them?

Well said, Peter. Couldn't agree more. Grew up under Nuniong, the horses do not pug ground. Why is the government not concentrating on feral pigs and deer. They do nothing about the weeds. BlackBerry etc.

I would like to see an unbiased documentary on the topic but this is clearly going to be an echo chamber to save an introduced species.

Given the reality of Invasion and Genocide of First Nations People in this country, we're the introduced species. Regardless, that's no excuse for mindless culling, when the bushnen of this region had the situation in hand before the government stepped in and screwed everything up. Two generations of my family suffered the threat of Fire burning down a family home in ths region, POST the banning of cattlemen in the High Country. See Charlie Lveick interviews re how they had a perfectly viable Fire prevention strategy before the government screwed that up at HUGE cost to Livestock, wildlife and locals. Do checkout Agenda 21 and Agenda 30 Truthers videos esp Max IGAN from the Crowhouse who covers the truth behind these insane government "initiatives". If you think that the mindless Murder of these magnificent animals is a good thing, then that makes you a very sad person indeed. This country used to pulsate with wildlife before Invasion. We should preserve what precious little - is left!!

@@emilygraham9968 I don't really understand this argument about the high country access having anything to do with the recent, large bushfires. Most of those were no where near the alpine grazing areas. I mean I know Mallacoota is technically in the same shire as Omeo/Benambra etc. but it's a very different place, a long way away. And so is Bruthren.

So one sided and full of misinformation. The brumbies must go from the high country

@@juliegrattan882 Good reply Julie. Clearly someone with zero reasoning, hence the lack of response to your perfectly polite question.
