I'm a Muslim. I find most of this above my level of understanding. I like Sufism because it is very inclusive to all religions. I believe all religions in their purest form are somewhat Sufi like, Tolerance and path to the Divine, free from politics and dogma. Merry Christmas 🤣

Pir Zia Inayat Khan is, indeed, a spiritual sublimity, as lofty words are expected to fall from the lips of those who are spiritually elevated. He is bestowed with the grace of Allah through sufi Inayat Khan. May Allah lift him on higher maqam (station) of esoteric openings and enable him to share divine knowledge with and guide the seekers.

Zia Inayat-Khan 's experience of western traditions includes a PhD from Duke University. Each person can decide for himself how significant a proportion of his overall perspective and understanding that represents.

I just came to find about more about this man after having heard his intelligent and sensitive interviewing of William Irwin Thompson. I enjoyed learning of his viewpoint here. There is an obvious crossover with Peter Kingsley from the more Hellenic side. It sounds like Sufism has always been more Perennialist than I'd known.

+Davidius Doremouseius I'm a Christian too and Sufism feels really good to me. I'm not bothered by Mohammed (PBUH), tho, so it's all smooth sailing for me. One way you may be able to gain from this is by - yes, I'm gonna use this word - appropriating their idea of Ethics. Ethics, like water to tea, is infused by religion (or visa versa), but it can also exist separately from it. You can adopt the Ethical ideals easily without having to "believe" the religion of Islam. You'll prolly have to learn some Arabic, tho, because the concepts are so highly developed that they may have 20 words for something we only have 3 words for. And this has to be learned. Peace.

He mentions a mystic, whose name I can't spell, who gets information from Aristotle in a dream, and then tells what that info is. Amazingly, Pir Zia Inayat-Khan doesn't tell us what that information is! Can anyone tell us where to find that info from Aristotle?
