The future is looking bright. I have a channel, and I'm always wondering who's watching. KZbin only gives you a number with no clue as to who it is. So you wouldn't also be wondering, I'm leaving this little comment and a like.

Why the handicap 2x4 nose skid? Even the X-37 has a real nose wheel.

Why no front landing wheel?
@AHappySpace
@AHappySpace 2 жыл бұрын
A landing wheel in the front is not a good idea as that part of the dream chaser gets really hot upon reentry, and sierra said they had some issues with the analysis of the performance of tires in the space environment, so a skid eliminated those issues, they also said it's much lighter then a wheel, very simple, and a safe option, as the dream chaser has no steering on the ground either as it will be towed off the runway.

@@AHappySpace The Space Shuttle had the same problem, but how did they deal with the heat? I suspect the mass fraction and complexity of a landing wheel is more significant for Dream Chaser than for for the Space Shuttle.. Yet..What material is the land skid made of? it must generate a lot of heat and vibration, and be under considerable stress because of the drag due to the landing surface....

It also has less mass, so you can take more cargo mass to orbit.

Sierra space guy didn't want to mention the 300 version can carry multiple nuclear warheads in low earth orbit and handle reconnaissance missions at real time . Pentagon be asking how you know 😂 average civilian. This is classified information . 😂

@@dondulla8258 got , a white hat community friend who researches on space companies and their objectives in space his like a analyst & also a hacker .So most of the information is open source , and leaked data obtained from various industry partners and research I personally done to validate this points , I don't like vague information or companies lying to us . There's a. Unmanned version they are creating , it's a UAV that can carry military payloads in space recon satellites & other systems . Sierra space mentioned 3 models , 2 of the other models they disclosed information for are government . US cold war ethics have not stopped they have just discreetly evolved.

8 years ago this company looked promising. But aside from some nice models, photographs and incredible rhetoric, it looks like this company peaked 8 years ago. Hope they make it to the launch pad.

It is unfortunate the Sierra is partnered with Blue Origin. Based on BO's history of all talk and no show this may never get in space. Stick it on a candle (Falcon) and actually get it in space! Or is this meant to just be another Jeff Bezos carnival ride?
