I have already watched this episode twice. The acting is incredible, award worthy across the board. Assad Zaman as Armand killed it this episode. His manipulative, insecure, heartbroken self is probably dull. But I think that’s because he tries to be so agreeable, to not rock the boat for fear of losing Louie that he isn’t a challenge like Lestat…Until he is an absolute terror. But Louie is cruel and so self important, that would be boring too.

Louis’ relationship with Lestat was a toxic dumpster fire. Louis’ relationship with Armand was a toxic dumpster fire. Louis’ relationship with Claudia was a toxic dumpster fire. Same with his relationship with his family. What you permit, you promote. The common denominator is Louis. Like Daniel said in season one, still Louis the pimp, paying someone to sit in a room and talk to him. This show is everything!

FACTS!! I loved how Louie called Armand out for being boring. Such a modern way of talking down to someone. I love the parallel...it's always the toxic, unstable messed up people calling someone else out for being different than them. Both of them are fucked up but it's clear that Louie is on another level than Armand. But I'm glad we are seeing how fucked up Armand is too.

Episode 5 was Everything. But I think I'm going to differ from most people with my opinion. I disagree that Louis didn't love Claudia, or not that much. When the sh*t got real and he thought Armand was going to kill him in that tunnel, he pleaded Claudia's case, not his own. He accepted Death for himself, but not for her. If that isn't love, then I don't know what is. Louis problem is that he only sees what he wants to see. That's what allows him to be manipulated. Then he reaches the end of his rope and loses his temper. He was delusional that Lestat, who just killed a priest, was going to transform his life. He was delusional that he could run a business like normal as a vampire in a racist city. He was delusional thinking that bringing a child into a crumbling relationship was a good idea. Delusional that revealing himself to a drug addict was a good idea. Delusional that he could just hang out with artists and be a photographer of all things when light is the most important part of photography. When the truth is right in front of him, he denies it if he can't bear to believe it. "Lestat doesn't love her" (Antoinette. He didn't, of course, but he loved her enough to say it and keep her around). "No, that doesn't sound like him" (Armand threatening Claudia). Armand is an enabler because he is exploiting that delusional quality, treating Louis like he's a fragile thing that he needs to lie to and coddle (putting those other artist's photos in his portfolio). I don't know why Louis always accuses people of being boring when he's mad. Neither one of his psycho boyfriends is boring. Daniel (present-day) is actually the best thing that ever happened to him because he won't allow him to be delusional.

Claudia always needed someone to truly care for her and Lastat was a whole bunch of things. Lol. I think the value of Malloy to Louis was that back in the 70’s and in present day conversations are Malloy’s points of views allowed Louis to exit his monotonous thinking. Armond learned that after listening to the tapes and got jealous because he never or couldn’t be that.

I'm with Daniel, Louis needs some help. Paul, Lestat, Claudia and Armand have loved this man with their whole selves. Lestat and Armand, in their separate ways are desperate for Louis companionship amd Louis is like, "I'd rather die." Louis torments his lovers pining over Claudia when Lestat was fully present and then pining over Lestat when Armand was fully present, then choosing Armand over Claudia when Claudia was fully present. The fight between Louis and Armand is brilliantly acted, gut wrenching as they take all the shots at one another. Chefs kiss.

I watched episode 5 on AMC+ right when it dropped at like 3 AM EST I'm obsessed/hooked LOL. And OMG completely spellbinding this trip back to the 1970's finally seeing that original interview was enthralling. I say it all the time this is one of the best shows on TV, and it's criminally underrated I hope that changes. And hello Emmy's recognition, and awards long overdue now please!!! I swear if this show get's snubbed again next award season it will be such bullsh!t, I hope at the very least that it get's nominated in all the categories. Oh poor baby Louis trying to commit suicide by going into the Sun, and afterwards he looked so horrifying, mad props to the special effects team. And Lestat saying he loved Louis telepathically, and Armand of course not telling Louis😭😢Lestat was so concerned for Louis once he found out something was wrong. I also really loved that by the end of the episode it's as if both Louis and Daniel have become so much closer not only in deeper understanding of each other, but also in what Armand has done to both of them. Maybe they will form a united front against Armand going forward. That look on Louis face at the end like he was screaming inside. And we haven't even got to the whole climax of the Paris and Claudia situation yet. Oh only 3 more episodes left I can't wait!!! thanks for the awesome review and video cheers.

I wonder which way the show is going to go with Claudia's death. Did Armand let the group finally kill her or did he try the infamous surgery? My main prediction is that Louis' rage with Armand after finding out what happened to Claudia caused the fire. Armand erased those memories cause Louis wont love him anymore

Yes. . . this show keeps getting better and better. Armand is the abused animal lashing out at those he tries to throw his love towards throughout his years and not getting the same love back all the while he has these great ancient vampire powers. That fight about how Louis is always complaining and then talking about Lestat, Lestat, Claudia, Lestat, Lestat and not Armand. I was wondering if we get to see real Lestat show up at the end of the interview, like he did in the movie, but guess we will have to wait, probably until the last episode this season. After that mind gift we know Lestat is alive at that point in the 70's, but Armand does not tell Louis that Lestat loves him.

I came from another reaction/review video that I had to stop watching because they despised Daniel to the point of being irrational. I was like, the poor guy just was there to have fun and they threw him around like a rag doll, messed with his head, and then dumped him in a drug den. The reason he is poking the bear sometimes by being rude and insensitive to Louis and Armand is because they deserve it. He might not have remembered at the time, but I’m sure his subconscious did. You can’t just do whatever you want to someone because you’re hot and sexy and a vampire. I mean I love both characters and simp for Lestat but yes, lestat wasn’t some innocent snowflake. There are consequences to actions. Bottom line: Daniel isn’t a jerk for checking Louis or Armand. It’s deserved. Especially after this episode.

Lestat, Claudia, Armand, Louis, Santino, or Marius are not abusers. These vampires are categorized under their own animal kingdom if you will. We can judge them by human standards, but we shouldn’t judge them anymore than we would judge how a pride of lions interact with each other. Vampires and lions are violent apex predators. We have to remember that too.
@tsheporabekane41728 ай бұрын
@@glittermethis But Vampires are not animals, they express empathy and enjoy art and music, so they are capable of reason, so they must be judged according to our standards since they share the psychological and even superior capability than that of humans. @@ladytamara1503 louie is like that someone you may know who brings trouble and drama wherever they go. but then they lament and cry about how they feel persecuted. but when you look closely, they triggered lots of dramas around them. i think he's not a bad person, but he's so effed in the head from 1. how he was seen as lower than the white guys in control back in his time, despite his wealth and accomplishments - all can be taken away just like that. 2. lestat just ripping him from his life and throw him into this new way of life, on top of that, making sure louie is constantly leaning on him for support, with his constant mind games. 3. lestat being very abusive and basically reinforcing this "im weak and tormented and powerless" mentality that plagues him till modern day.

I know exactly who Lestat is and that’s why I appreciate him lol. I’ll never forget him dropping Louis from outer space and would never want to see them back together. I just like his character.. Armand on the other hand we still don’t know who he truly is. 🤷🏽♀️

@@mysweetperspective what was likeable about Lestat? Jeez, this world really loves toxic love. No wonder the Tv series are full of them. They are just feeding people what to they truly desire - effed up love. It’s unhealthy

Armand is as boring as a soft beige pillow. But the show is also a lumpy grey pillow.
