I think the reason Louie detonates with Daniel is the realization that if he got off that bench and went with Claudia, a different outcome would have occurred. Lestat would be "alive". He can't read their thoughts, so he would have a hard time tracking them. Antoinette may let you go so she can have Lestat to herself.

It's just that I know he's alive in the now because Louie didn't kill him in New Orleans. Now I know that Armand contacted him so now he knows alive and still infatuated over him. And it was just weird that random man came up to Daniel the ONE time he was out.
