Not only could Armand have saved Claudia and Madeline at the trial, he could have simply taken them and left the country before they were kidnapped. The thing people are in denial about is that Armand orchestrated this entire trial! Why? Not only to get Louis to himself, but revenge against Lestat for rejecting him.

I appreciate that in this show there are no purely evil or purely good characters. There's a whole lot of layers, nuance, grayness, and I love it.

Show!Armand stans in denial are hilarious. It's almost like discrepancy between showing how powerful Armand is and his behavior during the trial is.... the point showrunners were going for? Making us question the validity of his rehearsed version?

That’s where I landed. Even those who I love really have flawed recollections of events. The show itself (from Louis pov) could be totally inaccurate and as much as that stresses me I actually love the unreliable narrator 😭

Lestat is clearly being manipulated during the trial, I'm assuming by Armand. Maybe that will come out in the finale.

That’s what I was thinking. He was going “off script” a little too often & he didn’t even like coven life so why would he be okay with this. Im not a Lestat fan but he doesn’t deserve that

I doubt they'll weave anything from the book The Vampire Armand, but he give us his "real" first hand account there. But, what happened after Louis was taken away, is FAR different that what Louis thinks happened. Remember the only one in that room that knows what happened after Louis was taken away is Armand, and he's always fuckin with people memories.

I think it’s deeper still; “The Gift” what was the “gift” IMMORTALITY! What this could not be prevented? The death of his mother, clinching the air? His brother falling from the roof! Him losing the nite club he owned. Grace children and why Claudia began calling Louis brother Lou. The background is who can deal with immortality if they can not separate oneself from attachment. Here is where we shall tie in Armand.

Gotta remember the show writers are following Anne Rice's book very closely. She wrote so many vampire novels! Loved Claudia's evil laugh in this episode. I watched this episode twice. Once with subtitles.

Oh yes, I’ll be rewatching for the third time tonight. I haven’t read the books, staying away from those and the movies so I won’t be influenced but this has been the most fun and emotionally stressful time I’ve had watching tv in a long time. I plan on getting every novel when pretty soon

@@ArtFlowersBeeze8815 see that’s where my head went. I think they were giving him a pass because he would be more damning evidence of Louis and Claudia’s “wrongdoing” as an alive vampire. They get more bang for their buck with him as a witness…but the way this is going I wouldn’t put it past Santiago to the try to sentence Lestat after the fact for creating Claudia

the amount of people I've seen defending Armand's lying ass saying he couldnt take on the united forces of the coven mind control and the formidable Sam 😂. Maybe so (bull), but he had the choice to let Claudia and Madeleine go instead of helping capture them

You’re right about that and with that strength (remember he made everyone sleep at the dinner table and stoped time for the humans) There’s no way he wouldn’t have been able to save all three of them. I feel like he was “cleaning up” a mess he let get out of control while trying to have his cake and eat it too by keeping Louis alive smh. He’s a snake

@carefreeblacknerd Absolutely and he conveniently couldn't focus on Claudia's last words (probably another lie) since he was too busy worrying about Louie. Meanwhile, he made zero effort to snatch Claudia and Madeleine out the sun now that his terrible captor Sam and half the coven were torturing Louis and Armand was unguarded. I can't 🤣🤣

Armand is a lying liar who lies. He put the whole coven to sleep an episode ago and stopped time but just couldn’t save Claudia. He’s a liar. He wanted Claudia dead. Louis fans never hold him accountable for anything. It’s always Lestat’s fault! Please! Louis’s actions caused that town to be burned down, and he sentenced Claudia to her ultimate fate! He bares a lot of responsibility for what happened with her!

People like this Lestat fan are so mad at Armand. Yet in the show, this version of Armand had SAID he regretted it in the presence, AND he saved Louis, in the book, Armand didnt care at all what he did, dont effin compare the book Armand to this version. Unlike, Lestat who sit there and did NOTHING. I dont care what the book said, THE SHOW IS EFFIN DIFFERENT! In the book, Lestat looked unkept but had good clothes to wear, BEGGED Santiago to let Louis go. But in this show, he looked the same, no scars, no nothing! And he was effin ignorant and wanted BOTH of them to die. And, funny, NOBODY was angry at Lestat who abuses him physical in season one, which the REAL Lestat (I wish they were accurate to the book Lestat) would NEVER do. Not to mention, Lestat in the show LIED in some of his statements, too, like how Louis stalked him, told the vampire laws. But to be honest, ALL are to blame the theatre of the vampires, Louis, Lestat, Armand. But, seeing you are effin bias, your review is irrelevant.

No its just common sense but your too biased realize its right in front of your face....If the you and show writers wanted Armand to look like a plasusible 'victim' they shouldve taken a couple of liberties 1. Maybe you shouldnt tell your audience this man has the ability to erase/plant false memeories 2.Maybe you shouldnt tell your audience this man can control peoples minds get them to do/say things they would not normally do/say (Lestat was looked at Armand when he said Nicky had help unaliving himself...idk you may have missed that) 3.Maybe you should not reveal to your audience that this man can freeze an ENTIRE RESTAURANT IN THEIR TRACKS AND FACEPLANT A TABLE A VAMPIRES WITH THE FLICK OF THE WRIST Now explain to me again why we should believe this powerful entity Armand was so easily subdued in the timeout corner 'guarded' by the vampire Sam....Strength wise one of weakest in the coven? Armand had all the strength to set Claudia and Lois up. I feel Lois is just as complicit in Claudia demise. Lestat was lying about Lois hunting him. How could a mere mortal over power an immortal. Please lestat arrogance was showing again. Brilliant show and why is no one talking about Daniel Malloy performance 🤔

I agree, I LOVE Louis but his hands ain’t clean in all of this. And the funny thing is…Lestat may be wrong/lying (I think he’s being controlled) But Louis may very well be wrong as well, he’s an unreliable narrator and all we have with the show is HIS account of what happened, things may not have happened the way season 1 shows.

@@carefreeblacknerd Daniel is like a couple therapist and lawyer all In one. I think one of the main points in the show is to highlight how memories can sometimes be unreliable. Brilliant show 🤩 Claudia was a warrior until the end 🗡️

That’s why I’m pulling back on my hate. Once I realized season one that Louis was an unreliable narrator then I (tho I love Louis) said lemme chill a lil bit cause he probably got a lot of stuff wrong
