This whole interview is so interesting. He is very humble to admit these mistakes with Lata, Mehdi Hassan etc. It also shows how amazing Shri Jagjit Singh was, he knew how to show Deepak empathy and teach him to be a better human and overall artist. I love the way Jagjit went out of his way to accommodate Deepak in US concerts, (as such a great artist) to actually iron Deepak's clothes! This is the mark of greatness - a human who see's all others as his equal. Deepak Pandit is the best Indian violinist I have had the pleasure to hear live in concert in UK with Jagjit Singh!

Thank you posting this. This is the 3rd or 4th time that I'm watching this. Like many others here, the first time I heard about Deepak Pandit and Abhinav Upadhyay was during the group introduction by the maestro himself. I was lucky enough to have attended one Jagjit Singh Night in Siri Fort Auditorium Delhi. Why I'm particularly thankful for this video is because I started exposing my son to the music since he was 5/6 year old. Because we don't have any musical background in our family (& now I understand why having music in family is already a great head-start), I'm many a times at loss to understand about the next direction. This episode has very good pointers on that. Keep enlightening and entertaining!! Wish you long and healthy life to Mr Deepak and Raag Giri team

I always thought that I myself could not got a chance to listen Jagjit Singh in a live show, but how fortunate were all those musicians, especially artists like Deepak Pandit who got a chance to work with Jagjit Singh and who is my personal favorite also. After the demise of the legend, I used to think sometimes that even if I could meet Deepak Pandit, I would get a lot of satisfaction because Deepak pandit was an integral part of him. But after watching this interview, my thoughts have been completely changed. Now even if Jagjit Singh himself come back and recommends me to meet Deepak Pandit, I would never like to see him. I think this man is very rude and admitting his mistakes very reluctantly. He don't know how to earn prestige. He is living in his own world, in his own utopia. He may be right in his place abuot what he has told, but then for his own enjoyment and so called principles, he should play the violin in the woods or on the pinnacle of Himalaya.
