Zara Julius ist eine interdisziplinäre Künstlerin, Forscherin und Kulturarbeiterin. Sie lebt in Johannesburg. Ihre Praxis basiert auf einer Arbeitsmethodik der „Entrücktheit“ (rapture). In ihrer Arbeit, die stets auf umfangreiche Recherchen zurückgreift, nutzt sie das Anarchiv und den Schwarzen Klang (Black sonic), um Zeit angesichts von Unfreiheiten neu zu konstituieren.
Zara Julius is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher based in Johannesburg. Her practice is informed by her methodology of “rapture”. Through extensive research, Zara’s work engages the anarchive and the Black sonic to reconstitute time in the face of unfreedoms.
