Certified through both IAHCSMM and CBSPD and been through several SPD Interviews in past couple of months, common questions include; Tell us about yourself ? Why do you want to work in Sterile Processing? What have you done to prepare for this interview ? Why do you want to work for this facility ? In a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate your attendance, explain why ? Give us an example of Customer Service in where you successfully resolved an issue, how did you go about in handling the situation and what was the outcome ? How would you go about in establishing credibility with your team members ? Share a time when you willingly took on additional responsibilities or challenges. How did you successfully meet all of the demands of these responsibilities? How would you handle a situation in where a Doctor needs an instrumentation right away however it is not sterile ? How would you deal with an Angry Irate Doctor needing a particular set however it is not ready ? How do you handle conflict with co-workers ? In your evaluation from previous experience, what were the positive points your Co-Workers said about you ? What were the negatives ? Tell us about a time you dealt with a Co-Worker who wasn’t doing their fair share of the work, what did you and what was the outcome ? What are your strengths and weaknesses ? Where do you see yourself in 3 to 5 years ? Describe your experience in working with scopes/endoscopy ? Is there anything else you would like to add, and why should we hire you ?

I woke up this morning, searched YT for Interviewing sterile processing. listened intently throughout the video, pausing to take notes, repeat, play...3 hrs later, i had my panel interview w/the VA Administration and less than an hour later, i was offered the job...i attribute my successful interview process solely to the content in this video. Highly recommended for any interview, but it was particularly relevant in my case. Thank you.

I would like to thank you for all the videos you've shared. I've learned a lot from you & I have my second interview tomorrow. In my first interview, I told them I've been learning from the BCI videos on youtube & they were impressed enough to call me back for the second & final interview. I was a certified combat lifesaver in the army & my only qualification was my BLS Cert. It's all on how you present yourself :D

+Boston Career Institute (BCI Inc.) - Brookline Thank you. I sure will. Btw ... i'm a 54 yr young man. I have a goal to be a surgery technician. They know this. It's not your age, it's your attitude and it's never too late to make a career change.

+fitoverfifty that's awesome. I'm sure that you will do amazingly well. One word of advice, shoot a little bit higher and invest a little more time to get an RN. With that, you can do surge tech and beyond. Only 2 years, many more options.

+Boston Career Institute (BCI Inc.) - Brookline Thanks for that tip Steve. I'm just thrilled beyond words that I've made it to the second interview w/o having any sterile processing certs other than my BLS and my college bio courses. I believe in my heart I got this. - Gary

Good afternoon, I want to tell you that you are an excellent teacher, your way of explaining sterilization issues is clear and specific, as well as your English pronunciation is clear, which made it easier for me to learn the subject quickly since at first it was not easy since my first language is Spanish. thank you. listening to his videos every day I finally passed the sterilization exam. thank you very much. God bless you.
