I repaired my 16 year old quick set inflatable ring by stuffing it full of empty 1 gallon plastic jugs. Used mainly 1milk jugs and a few vinegar jugs which are easier to insert. Did add a rope under the ring with a few pics of scrap wood to keep ring from pushing the ring out ward when it overfill from rain. Basically a free fix from the recycle bin.

I just tried this on the pool we’ve had for less than 2 months, and the water keeps emptying out over the noodles. We taped 3 noodles together to make it bigger. What are we doing wrong? Any suggestions?
@TheFarmacySeedsNetwork4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... did you make your insertion slits ONLY on the outside of the "inflatable ring? You might need to "help" it get started as it fills by lifting or whatever.. also the ring needs to go all the way around the pool.. mine took 10 noodles or something like that. Hope you can sort it out. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I wonder if the expanding foam used for sealing drafts would work. Using the noodles as a space filler with the canned foam. We have same problem with the ring deflating.

It actually does work pretty damn good too if u can get enough of that foam insulation large crack filler. Its waterproof and floats great. I pre-tested it on a large vinyl patch before using to make sure it was compatible and wouldnt eat away at the vinyl but it seems to be a great filler. Im going to use noodles, 3 liter emties & 1 gal plastic jug empties and fill in with this foam sealer that expands 3× in size in the areas needed.

So we used pool noodles but passed PVC through about 9 of the noodles and used a cup link to fasten the ends. PVC is flexible enough to complete a circle and add pressure to keep the ring of noodles under the top tube. We’ll be testing it when we add more water and are hoping we can fill the pool to capacity-we’ll let you know and share pics later.

Hey. We have a leak In rim can’t find it. Must be in seam. So we have 15 x42 size. So we got 10 skinny noodles from family dollar at $1.00 each. They have a hole in the middle so we got some good rope and threaded them and put them in pool pulled rope tight had to shorten/cut the last one and tied a knot. The noodles fit “ under the rim perfect and stay there. So it holds the rim up and thus no loss of water. A permanent fix would be if someone could make a new tube to put in the rim. But this works for now. The rim still holds air for a few hours we have a cordless/battery inflator. Hope this helps someone.

Btw we’ve had the noodles in this way 4 days now, had big wind storm and it held fine under rim .. we have the solar cover on top with 5 of the weight/water tubes on Top the cover but the noodles with the rope through them hold the rim up great. @TheFarmacySeedsNetwork4 жыл бұрын
Just slid them inside.. used pieces of 3/4 pvc pipe to connect them.. sort of like legos.
@TracyIce4 жыл бұрын
I used like 10 noodles linked together with 3/4 " PVC PIPE cut into 4 inch pieces glued inside each end of noodle, when the noodle ring was complete I tucked under the inflatible ring. 12' x 36" pool. I still like the ring to be inflated though, my problem is the valve itself, the inner rubber seal is tearing. I used pvc pipe cement on several pin holes that were oozing in the liner and followed up with flex seal and flex tape. Worked good.

Why
@robyntaurusbeatz7033 жыл бұрын
Man ...$200 ?? Try $1200 like I paid last summer during the pandemic when they wanted everyone to be quarantined to their homes for 2 weeks that turned into like 5 months! There just so happened to be a pool shortage where Wamart didnt even have any pools when they would normally have all their pools out on display in seasonal. I spent $1200 on an 18 ft Intex Easy Set pool only to find that the filter wasnt enough to do shit so turned around and spent another $400 on a big Sandman Sand filter w/1 hp pump to supercharge the filtration. Im sure u can understand why I absolutely refuse to let this pool die on me getting not even 2 full seasons out of it yet. This top ring has had a leak or leaks that I couldnt find all of and has just been so stressfull and then we just had a crazy windy storm that left the top ring looking like Freddy Cruger came to swim in 1 area with like 4 tares in 1 area and then a long tare thats over a foot long and its now entirely flat...😭😭😭😭😭🤦I hope I can find a shit load of noodles this late in the season. Thank u for sharing ...

Well a $30 dollar fix is better than $200- hope it ends up being a long term fix!
@TheFarmacySeedsNetwork5 жыл бұрын
Sure is! I think it will be "long term" for the life of the pool... I just checked on it now and all is well, pool filling. Those pools are a pain to set up initially too, so even a replacement would cost me a solid 3 or 4 hours of time. You'd be amazed how hard it is to get that laid out "round" before filling it.. and even with 2 inches of water in it.. it's too heavy to make changes.

@@TheFarmacySeedsNetwork I've wondered...as long as there is adequate movement/filtration of the water is there really any problem with swimming in "pond water?"...especially if it's only a couple people using it?
