Intex Mariner 4 Modz and Review

Just wanted to go over a few things that I've done to my intex mariner 4. Wanted to show you guy how effective this little inflatable can be. I put a hard wood floor in it that was wrapped in carpet. I put a 24volt trolling motor that works really great for its price. If your looking for something cheap easy to haul around in a car and something that will get you to those fishing spots that you couldn't hit from the shore this maybe something for you. I can swim a mile in 27 minutes (64 lengths) front crawl at my local swimming pool which is probably better than you can. But not with fast under currents we can can't see in a river,lake or sea that will pull me down and sweep me away within a drop of a hat. Your risking your life not having it on trust me, seen to many horror scenes and stories when I was an RNL lifeguard.

Hi , thank you for the video! You can use braided line to reduce the amounts of tangles. If you want to use clear line to your lure, then you can use a swivel at the end of the braid, and tie a section of flurocarbon between the swivel and lure. Also, when you cast, make sure to have about 2 or three feet of slack line off the tip of the rod to get the best swing on the lure.

You don’t need both floors. I use mine with just my wood floor boards and it’s perfect.

I have an Intex Mariner 4 that I have a Minn Kota trolling motor on. I use to run the trolling motor with a full size deep cycle battery like you do. I got tired of lugging that thing around so I went down to Batteries Plus and purchased a DURACELL Deep Cycle battery; model number DURDC12-35J. Its less than half the size of a full size battery and I can fish all day long with it. It's never left me without power on the lake. One of the best things I ever did for my Mariner 4 raft!

Random question do you attach the motor mount when the boat is deflated? I just picked up the setup and it seemed really hard to get the mount on when the boat was inflated due to the angle of the back mounts. I’m trying to avoid screwing in the aluminum arms every time.

I put it on while its inflated but you can put the mount on when its almost full that should help

Your motor link shows 55lb Newport Vessels with 30 in shaft. Both Intex and Newport Vessels sites recommend 36 in shaft for Mariner 4. Looks like your 30 in works fine. Any problems? Would your recommend the 30 in over the 36 in?

Awesome! I just upgraded to the Mariner 4, had a 3. Have a newport vessels 55 lb trolling motor and 55 amp mighty max battery and another battery even more powerful, solar panels, two 8inch speakers, the awning. I like the floor idea and now I'm getting a fish finder. Once I get my floors in with carpet I'm going to install two swivel seats and a table in the middle to play cards or watch TV, cook, whatever. Awesome modifications and thank you for the ideas!

@@mattgolf147 thank you for watching and it used to last me all day and I would still have about 25 percent left and I was in the harbor but I would actually take it to auto zone and let me charge it since they would do it for free then I would pick it up the day before I would go out
