I'm pretty sure one of the people on the ship smuggled that alien in. They ignored proper protocol and snuck it in for money. So they had to have known it was a bad idea given it was against protocol to do something like that for the safety of the crew.

@@Sephiroso. True. Actually, I believe Mother had hidden instructions to retrieve the creature and the android knew about it. However, outside of that, most of the crew had no idea that a "facehugger" (which is an incredibly creative name for something that doing what it does to your mouth) would cause an alien to burst out the body. So, the solution really doesn't track here.

Candyman is one of the greatest horror movies of all time and hella relevant to today. And to be terrifying and not have any horror monster makeup other than the hook for his hand. Tony Todd is an amazing actor.

The problem with Chucky's height though is that it also makes him nimble. So he can crawl between your legs (pause) then proceed to grab your legs and fling you into the air.
