Hello :) Thank you for many great lessons :) As e understand the haftone/ midtone is the transition between light and dark. When you go to the next value up, do you in there use some of the darker color you used in the value before ?

synnøve, that depends upon what you are looking at. For the most part, on the light side of the transition between light and dark also indicates that portion of an image moving out of shadow into light. That also indicates that the color not in shadow will be warmer, so observation is your key here.

Around the outside edges of the palette, I leave any paint I don't use. I like having all the colors in site while I am working.
