Dude how many saws do you own. Don't let anybody ever tell you you have enough. I own stihl. 500 i, 461, 462 c, a 271, an older super 029, and a small 170. But I'm going to get me a 261 c. My favorite big saw is the 462 and the 461 . for some reason I don't really care for the500 i. Selling it as of right now. It just seems flemsy to me for some reason. But I have friends who absolutely love the 500 i. Its probably me. But to each his own. I love your videos. Learned a ton. Good night Irene.

I'd never seen one of these big girls worked hard before. I was a bit disappointed, it seemed to struggle / bog more than i was expecting, obviously the myth and hype around these saws had me expecting more! In defense of longer bars in the western woods in logging situations not in a firewood yard most trees are not laying flat on the ground and are elevated somewhat with limbs and slash debris. IMHO in the upper midwest day to day it is hard to go wrong with a 70cc Pro saw with a sharp! 20-24" b&c.👍

Ripping the log with the long bar is much faster and easier on the saw than using a Alaskan Mill set-up. Crazy question. . To cut those 2 pieces all in 2 quarters, and 16" with a 70cc saw. Or do it all with a 119cc saw. . Approximately, Which used more fuel? . Feal free to stick the old one in a USPS flat rate box. and sent it out to pasture, out west. no bar required. LOL
@InTheWoodyard3 ай бұрын
I do not know for sure but it would probably be faster with the 592 and a 24" bar cutting from both sides on the cross cut THEN ripping them down. The 592 is way faster cutting. This was just for fun and to justify the purchase!

@@InTheWoodyard i find a 90 somthing cc saw is plenty big for 99% of everything done. Mabe for are slab bundles from the mill, cutting it to length would be about the only practical use. . A 36" light bar would do it wonders in the logistics department, of just moving it around lol.
