Strategically dropping big ash trees so I can avoid a water-filled ditch, and then blocking them up with my Husqvarna chain saws. I haul two loads of free wood that will be ready to burn this fall.

@@InTheWoodyard You’ve inspired me , been cutting wood over 25 years , finally going to start selling it. Check out my last 2 videos and let me know what you think of the splitter I just bought. I’ve got a lot of the equipment you would need from my landscaping business and having an outdoor wood boiler for 13 yrs ...I built my own splitter for the skid steer ( it’s in a few of my videos), and I just grabbed a small processor used needing work.

Forgot to add I see you like Husqvarna saws, I love them. If you haven’t tried a 550xp, you don’t know what your missing, I bought one 3 yrs ago and it’s my favorite saw now , the 372xps sit a lot more now . The 550 does 90 percent of my cutting.

Why do u switch saws?
@InTheWoodyard3 жыл бұрын
I just grab the next sharp and gassed up one when I run the first one dry and that way I keep cutting and also let the saws cool down, they last longer that way.

Great job!!! I do the same thing with noodling the bigger rounds in half, with ash I just noodle the first 6" of the round then take a wedge and sledge to it, saves the chain a bit. Also I highly recommend the Husqvarna 2:! hand chain sharpener, I was skeptical of it at first, but I do 6 strokes per tooth every other tank of gas and can literally cut 10 cords of wood before the chain gets to stretched out, takes about 5 min to touch up once you get the rhythm of it, havent gone back to my bench sharpener since getting the file system.

Thanks for the tips Kenny and for watching too!

Chris have you ever seen thought about bringing your splitter along now? I just see that as one less time you have to lift the splittable pieces. Get a local fab shop to add a receiver on back of dump trailer. Know a few folks around here that go to the woods like that.

No, it's not my property and there are other people cutting out there but mainly it wold be a lot of extra work to haul everything there and back every day, I did it twice before on some other private land and it was not worth it.
@NimaTech4 жыл бұрын
How do buck up all the wood without the chain hitting the ground?
@InTheWoodyard4 жыл бұрын
Don't worry I do hit it every once in a while, the trick is to be very aware of the chain, saw tip, ground, angle, saw speed, sun light and shadow, spin of the planet, moon phase, wind direction,etc.
