I was recently diagnosed with TTP HUS and 4 other autoimmune anemias. I am 50 y/o. I miraculously survived. I have several disabilities now as I continue to recover. I don't recall anything leading up to my admission to the hospital.12 days life support ventilator support, dialysis, plasmaphesis and Rituxmab with only Hg 6 platelet of 12. 3 months in the hospital I've lost about 7 years of memory. I couldn't walk either. I lost my oldest son to TTP HUS in 2016. Prior to his diagnoses I had never heard of the condition and I am a critical care health care worker. Both my parents are still living and never heard of the condition. I knew both sets of grandparents, all 8 great grand parents and even great great grandmothers... Most of my ancestors lived full lives into their 80s or more. So my son's condition was a quick onset and a quick recovery. Not nearly the condition I was in....However, his second flare up.. was his last. He transitioned spiritually at 23 years and 8 months here in the realm of time.
