Thank You for taking us along on another beautiful paddle 👍. Pretty neat 'balancing rock' at the 1:12 mark. You certainly have no shortage of lakes to explore 🙂. Excellent camera work and editing as well 👍. Besides seriously considering kayaks for our adventures because of your videos, your underwater footage also reminded us that we should finally invest in a GoPro as well. All the best, Michelle and Holger

Thanks so much, I really appreciate hearing that from you considering your skills with the camera. I love paddling and you're right, we have so many lakes and rivers to explore. Just wish we had your mountains. 😄 I use a really cheap 4K action camera for my underwater shots. I think I paid $80 for it and it seems to do the trick though I'm sure a GoPro would probably get better images. Keep up the great work at your end, I really enjoy your content. 👍 Daryl

@flynorthprod there's a few portage spots that lead from Ministic Lake and Armstrong Lake. The last push isn't very well traveled but alot of neat sights along the way. Went this weekend.

Thanks Janson - I should think about doing some fishing while I'm out on the lakes - it's just that I have very little room left in my kayak after I load the other gear. We'll see, food for thought. Thanks for checking it out.

Beautiful day for exploring Ministic Lake! I love seeing how even the smallest of islands are covered in trees! That’s quite a small dam… does it make much power? Seems to be in a very rural area. You made it through some pretty tight squeezes, except for one I guess 😆 Love seeing the rocks… I’ve been having fun learning more about geology the past couple years…. He aerial views give a great perspective. Thanks for sharing your adventure! 😄🙌🙌☀☀👍👍

Hi Jenn, I don't know if that dam generates power or not. In northern Ontario, it's not uncommon to see dams built for the sole purpose of regulating water levels in lakes to satisfy the property owners and control flooding during the spring runoff (we get a LOT of snow). Thanks as always for checking in!

Thanks Age! I was hoping you'd like the rock incident. :-) That was just one of several I hit that day - I tend to hug the shorelines, it's always more interesting than the middle of a lake, but it comes with its perils. Later that day I was completely hung up on one - took my a couple of minutes to wiggle off of it. The water around it was too deep to get out of the kayak. But I'm not likely to change any time soon. Thanks for watching!

@@flynorthproductions by hugging the shoreline you have the security of a quick swim to shore if needed 😄 You've really got some awesome lakes to explore and they're quiet and not overrun with people!

Great camping spots at the end of Taylor's Island and the dam.many dangerous spots for boating as the water gets really low. Little ministic is a bass anglers wet dream lol.

A great paddle. Would like to give it a try one day, once I get enough courage to overcome the fear of tipping. Been in a canoe many times, but never a kayak. The whole area reminds me of Keji here in Nova Scotia, especially the rocks and their unexpected appearance! lol Enjoy the week. Bruce and Otis

Oh I really wish I could kayak out your way, Bruce. It's a paddler's dream to be on the ocean along the NS coast. Kayak hulls have evolved quite a bit over the years. Mine is quite wide and stable with a much more open cockpit which I need for my old back. I know the traditional sea kayaks come in more forgiving hull configurations as well now so I would encourage you to try one out if you get the chance. Thanks for visiting!

Nice paddle... Ministic Lake doesn't disappoint. Do you know who the dam belongs too? Vale? Ontario Hydro? It must take a lot of time doing all the set up to get all the video shots. What do you use for the underwater footage? Another great video!!
@flynorthproductions
@flynorthproductions Жыл бұрын
Thanks Al. I think INCO may have had something to do with that so maybe it's in Vale's hands now but I really don't know. The shots take a little time but I'm getting more efficient with practice. I use a cheap action camera (under $100) for the underwater shots - it has been pretty good so far. Thanks for checking in!
