While Silent Hill has it's rare and odd "jumpscares" i love how it mostly focuses in a constant, psychological discomfort. It doesn't try to scare the player by triggering an intense reaction, but rather it always keeps them on edge by making their situation completely uncertain to them.

@@mechmoh1421 Mannequins didn't hide in the original, every enemy acted the same and just had a different moveset. SH2 was a very simple game compared to the stuff added in the remake.

@Terry-nx8kg I would like to know what exactly the original did better as I have played the original numerous times but honestly prefer the remake for alot of reasons graphics gameplay boss fights the new exploration all makes this a better game than the original game

​@seanowens1073 maybe he just prefers it and that's OK 👍 there are things the OG did better one thing being the pacing the game and story were alot tighter being it was half the lenght and was all the better for it imo and it didnt feel like you were fighting waves of enemies but the remake has stronger points as well to the OG. cant we just love both for what they bring to the table. They did a great job on a classic 👍

I swear playing this game at night And fully immersed in the world it like playing threw a nightmare really feels like a dream with such a deep meaning behind it all and the subject matter this game is about is depressing a true masterpiece in remakes❤having the time of my life

The atmosphere of the game is just absolutely oppressive. Even when there's nothing happening, you're always tense. As for the geography and timeline of the series: SH1 is set in the north, older part of the city. SH2 is set in the southern part, across the lake, there's a road to the west of the map in SH2 that would go around the lake and arrive at the amusement park. BTW, you mentioned growing up in Maine, Silent Hill is supposed to be in Maine - it's kind of a mix of Greenville, Bangor and Biddeford. SH2 happens roughly 10 to 15 years post SH1. First game was set during the early 80s, second is set during the mid 90s.

Y'know? I was havin an itch to keep playin this kind of game, so I went ahead & installed The Evil Within 2 (Which it ain't nowhere near as scary as this one, I can tell ya that lol) An interesting detail I found tho, is breaking car windows for loot, just like this one. I was like, ayyyyy haha. There are tons of cars to destroy too. Scary or not, it's still a good game, I'm havin a great time, I played it once when it came out n that's it. I don't remember shit basically, so it's like a new game kinda... Anyways, I saw u posted the last part already, I'm so curious to see what ending u got (mine was all kinds of fucked up, I was speechless. This game is a friggin masterpiece) Also, I swear to God u always find stuff I totally missed, makes me so mad lmfao, not really. But I'm always like, ain't no way that was there n I missed it haha. BROOOOOO, the amount of loot u were carrying was actually INSANEEEEE. Over 130 fricken bullets, 15 syringes??? Are ya kiddin meeeeeeeee. Holy hell... U gotta play this on hard next time. Wanna know how many bullets I was able to hoard? Like 25. And I was running out of meds ALL the time, my screen was red most of my playthru LMFAO. As u can see, it really keeps u on edge u kno, keeping an eye on every fuckin corner for those leg thangs 😆... DEW IT.

The criticism for Angela in this game is misguided, but not unfounded. They were complaining about her looking less attractive. While normally I would be all on board with their criticism, I’m not here. Angela is better here than in the original. She is so tragic, and they did a much better job of conveying that in this remake. Also, the shotgun is the typical survival horror shotgun. The closer they are, the more powerful it is. If you get them at point blank range it is enough to kill almost everything in 1 shot. If you shoot them 5 ft out it is far less effective
