Simon’s dialogue in the climber if you kill old Simon is worth including here: “Have we figured out what happens when we die yet? Is that even possible? If there’s some kind of afterlife, do you think my place is taken? The real me died like a hundred years ago. Is there still room for me? And what about the Simon I killed at Omicron? What do you think, Catherine, is there a heaven full of redundant copies of the same people? Is there someone up there who’d call me an imposter?” Then he moves on to the rest of the dialogue that he says at the end, regardless of your choice (about waking up in the right body, etc). God I love the writing in this game. This sequence is the masterstroke of this masterpiece for me

yeah the additional dialogue here adds so much to the conversation, I wish they didn't remove this line if you spare the other Simon. The original Simon from Toronto still died so it is absolutely still justified that he would be thinking of this. Just cut the "And what about the Simon I killed at Omicron?" line and it is fine.

@@Zach-cn4lb true. I guess what I mean is I feel like what Simon says regarding his thoughts on a hypothetical afterlife was more profound and thus interesting. And I am aware that is subjective so others might think what he says if you spare the other Simon is more profound. I just think there could have been a way to write it where both thoughts are conveyed no matter what you pick

I was so curious the entire time about what would happen when you got caught by the other suit, i was kinda disappointed it just killed you lol. Wouldve been really funny if it just started talking to you like 'dude stop running it's me a fellow friendly robot human'

Ryan! This total stranger is proud of you for practicing bravery the last few episodes! You've been walking around (versus crouching), you've been looking at the Scary face-to-face, and now you've deliberately put Simon into danger in order to find more lore: you've been killing it! 😃 I enjoyed watching you play through this episode. The conversation with Catherine on the ACR is moving and I was glad to hear your thoughts on it. You also made way more sense of those graphs than I was able to -- they were so seemingly nonsensical that my brain just couldn't compute that they were just saying that underwater populations that had taken a huge hit post asteroid-strike had recovered and exceeded their pre-apocalypse numbers once infected with the WAU. Kudos to you for calling it that your robo-guide would get snatched by a fish!

You made it. That section in Tau terrorized me when I played and watching you play it did not help with the trauma. I was so TENSED lol And the alarm when the airlock opens... Anyways, you did well running from that anglerfish. I made the mistake of being curious and went towards it.. regrets. I'm still haunted by it. I'm looking foward to your next videos Ryan! :)

simon's 'stupidity' is both a positive and a negative for this game for me. Like on one hand it is very interesting to deal with a character who's understanding of the world is different from how it actually is, and it makes some sense considering his background and that he has essentially just arrived in this world. but on the other hand like I feel like he should've learnt and picked up on these things because I as the player have and we have experienced the same things (me and simon) and it also just makes me a little annoyed and sad at how hostile he is against catherine because he couldn't wrap the idea around his mind
