Forgotten Waypoints

Күн бұрын

Join us as we take a plunge deep into the Awapa Plateau, a rarely explored and hardly heard of volcanic uplift located west of Capitol Reef, north of Escalante Grand Staircase Monument, and north east of Bryce Canyon National Park.
We also take our Lexus and Jeeps and skirt Boulder Mountain's Aquarius Plateau and head home via the stunning Hell's Backbone Road into Boulder Utah.

Thanks for watching! It sure is a lot harder to tightly edit a 10-15 minute video than it is to do my shorter 3-7 minute trail reviews! But it's also more rewarding. The hardest part is actually capturing enough B-roll footage with which to make the story!

We should! Plenty more around there left untapped. I really want to see how dark the nights are there.

Awesome. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I was able to convey how cool....yet barren, the place really was.

Forgotten Waypoints ~it looked like a really nice time. Though anytime in nature is good. I can’t get away from populated areas that easy. I live on Oahu which is only 103 miles around.

@@J.Young808 ....but you have the ocean!! Yeah, that place was cool because it was empty. I think the entire off road portion of the trip was 100-130 miles. I'll have to go back and check.

Thanks. There are plenty of routes there to get lost in.....but there is nothing there. I want to camp on that plateau sometime, it's wide open and no trees, the stars at night have to be fantastic.

That’s awesome! It would be fun to do stuff like that one day but I don’t have a proper vehicle for it.

Lexus GX470... But shhh don't tell anyone..
@ForgottenWaypoints

Yeah, the GX470 is such an underrated (but no longer, the secret is coming out) rig. It's extremely comfortable for a daily driver and if you just toss high quality tires on it (no need for a lift), the type of terrain you can tackle is good enough for 80% of the explorers. I'm going to be reviewing the GX470, hopefully sometime soon. My wife wants me to replace/fix the cloudy headlights first!

@@rambitomone Exactly.. Even when I purchased mine, more than a few years ago, it was way more than yours. Also '04. Of course, it all depends where you live.
