Thanks Dave, I love your videos. I've been taking Music Production at Full Sail for the last 16 months and I can honestly say that I get more from your videos for FREE that I do from the courses I'll be paying the next 20 years of my life for.

Love this video. Ever since i been watching this vids mixing has become a lot more easy to do. I do have a question, when working with multiple instrument tracks of the same part (layering i call it) do u keep all your individual tracks for the mix and send them to a bus? Or do u print them to a 2track then use the 2track and mix the rest of the song from there? In other words, do u print then mix or bus then mix? Preference?

I Loved it Dave!! totally amazing!!! :) Could you please, pleass do an ITL on the drums on this track they sound huge!! And how they fit with those heavy guitars is really hard to do!!

Another great tutorial. I was hoping you'd show us how you bus the guitars. I'm assuming you send them all to a bus with some compression and what not. Any insight to this would be great!

It was good to hear the Bass track in isolation because it is not strictly in Unison with the Guitars (as one might assume).

MrDaveSir what do you do with panning besides eqing for the guitars couldnt help to wonder?

Bring on more rock! how about a 3-4 part (episodes) series where a mix is done on something like a Chivelle style song with Dave and Barresi or a All American Rejects/Green Day type song with Dave and CLA....EVERY mix decision attempted is explained and shown on video, the audio we hear is not from camera but from the main outs (1/2) THIS IS WHAT I REALLY NEED TO SEE i think I would really learn alot from the set-up of the session pre mix, through the mix, to finalizing for mastering.

that would be nice. but dave is doing this all for free so just appreciate it!

How are all of the tracks getting in the red zone yet not clipping?
@javierpg846 жыл бұрын
Tracks were limited. even the plugin are not present you can see the wave forms trimmed. Heavy limiting.

Hi! Somebody tell me please why Dave did use FET compressor on a bass track. Could i put LN1176 or not? Is it about bass playing fast notes and different types of compressors and thier reaction speed? Thank you

thats just so he can mix into it to estimate what a mastering engineer would do. he removes the L2 when they send to master so the dbs would come down significantly

the last compressor kinda focused the Bass sound in my opinion…….

it's limited or compressed to exactly 0 db

Half you commenters don't understand metal, the other half don't understand Dave Pensado. It's hilarioius that a guy who has mixed Bieber, Backstreet Boys, Aaron Carter and Beyonce can probably mix metal better than most of you. X'D
