Into the Radius 2 Dev Diary | Multiplayer

Since this question comes up a lot, the dev diary says "e.g. through Steam". It's a convenience feature, nothing else. Also, when it comes to starting loadouts for guests and such, we are now building for the default scenario, but over time we can add different options for both hosts and guests if it makes sense.

I think a default load out jumping into a new game with friends makes sense. Kind of like a new agent getting sent in with the bare minimum and the just gear up with the veterans who've been out there longer. Give it that immersive feel of being in the field, and the safe zone give each guy their own hab for the stuff want to keep.

thatd be insane imagine going into singleplayer and then hearing your friend thinking your in mp and then realizing your in a singleplayer and losing your shit because it knows where you are yet you dont now where it is

We've had some really fun discussions around voice chat/radio and mimics/anomalies. At the end of the day, we'll playtest and see what works and what doesn't, but it seems to fit the game well and I'm super excited about this.

A wish list for into the radius: Jumping:i hate not being able to jump over leaned fences that you could most definatly get over. Being able to grab pistol mags directly out the gun: need i say more? Force gab and better grab points: its annoying when i panic and cant grab anything because grab points are shish. I dont want to sound needy, its just mostly grab points and what not.

To grab mag out of gun hold the A button on right controller and the mag will pop out of gun but not drop as long as you hold A. Then you can grab mag.

So I'm not a dev, but I do know how they took ITR1 through early access. They did it on PCVR, then eventually created a quest 2 port that could be released and played on quest standalone. So, from what I've seen in the past. My guess is that the devs will create an ITR2 port for the meta quest 3 sometime after ITR2 is officially released out of its early access phase on PCVR.

As a questian and pcvr user, you as a quest user you also need to understand hardware limitations and why there can't be things like dense forests and water physics. Unless you want it run like a slide show :)

The only way I would accept multiplayer is if there was the option to play against your friends, and fight each other to complete the missions and for loot. Proximity chat would make this so much cooler.

Man, I love this game. I just finished it stretched it for 30 hours. Now nothing comes close. I have Asgard Wrath which is Next Level 3D VR like a ve God of War. But it doesn’t give the feel into the radius does. I think I’m gonna get my fix by trying “lies beneath” I need terror. I hope into the radius 2 feels lonely. I would enjoy 1 more player Co op. No more. I can’t wait.

Into The Radius is the definitive single player experience. Same way Fallout was until they released the game NOBODY asked for Fallout 76.*

You're making this difficult for yourself my man I'm sorry to say it to you. Nobody is stopping you from enjoying games in single player even if they have a multiplayer suite. Most co-op experiences offer a friends only privacy setting, you could use that for instance to play the game how you wanna play it. Edit: Also. The definitive single player experience is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Gamma. It's basically the best most immersive hardcore single player shooter project. A little dated by todays standards but offers a lot more than the current industry does in triple a titles. Best part is. Its a standalone mod free to play
