Thanks so much for your tutorials. I just upgraded to ArtRage 6 from ArtRage 3.5.5. Wow, loving it. For those who are following along with ArtRage 6 you can Adjust layer colors under Edit- Filters - Adjust layer colors. Stay inspired!

Do you have video tutorial for a complete beginner I have no idea where to start !!
@someonesane7 жыл бұрын
@windrushblue - Hi. If you're looking for the basics, you could check out my video tutorial course on Lynda.com ( www.lynda.com/ArtRage-tutorials/Up-Running-ArtRage/427857-2.html ). They offer a free trial, which should allow you time enough to get through the topics that interest you the most, if not all of them. But there's a great amount of useful tutorials there, so it'd probably be worth signing up anyway, depending on how serious you are about learning different techniques in art (both digital and natural media).

I can't figure out how to find your canvas on the Artrage website. :/
@someonesane7 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex. I just took a look and see it's still there (4th post in the thread). You are looking for an image (which is a picture of my carpet) that is supposed to be used for the Canvas Grain; it's not an actual Canvas Preset. I didn't bother to make a preset for it, because the technique I use in the video constantly changes the settings, which makes a preset pointless, as a preset is just a saved set of panel options.

Thank you so much! I see it now, I don't know why I couldn't find it before.

canvas grain does not affect my brush at all :(
@someonesane4 жыл бұрын
Hi Troglodyte. Be sure that the "Use Canvas Texture" option is turned on for the layer you're working on, because otherwise it may be using a different Roughness level to the one being set in the Canvas settings. Also be sure that the "Paper Wet" option (found on the Settings Panels, when the Watercolor tool is selected) isn't turned on, because it overrides the grain interaction. There's also the chance that the grain you're using isn't rough enough (even if the Roughness setting is at 100%). This happens with grains that have small bits of texture to them, rather than large ones (like the difference between sand and gravel). Be sure the texture you choose has an even variety of fairly large dark areas to white areas.
@voidling26324 жыл бұрын
@@someonesane ohhhhh, indivual roughness/texture on each layer?! That's great!. Thanks, didn't knew about this option.

Can I just take a pic of my own Carpet?
@someonesane8 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I actually encourage it, because it means you'd be adding your own unique touch to it, which is good for artists. The more an artist experiments with different textures, brush presets and methods, the closer they come to falling into their own personal style, which others will recognize. Just be aware that I made changes to the carpet image I provided, so that it would tile seamlessly. By using your own image, you may find that the edges of the image leave noticeable lines at its edges, when drawing over it. Should that occur, you could use my Seamless Tile video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmiyXpesepKenLM) to transform it into a seamless tile with ArtRage.
