Well done! I love the diversity of this device! Some really interesting sounds - a tweaker's delight! Thanks for posting!

Hi Fredrik :) I just finished assembling the Into The Unkown. It is absolutely great. I'm using it on bass, I hope I'll be able to post some cool clips, both on bass and guitar. I have one tiny question: I can't seem to find a way to only hear the octave down. Does it have to be blended with fuzz or octave up? I assembled a 0415 Guitar Synth, which can do octave down only, but I gave it to a friend. I might have to get another one, octave down only is so cool :) Cheers from France!

Alors, verdict? Comment sonne-t-elle? Je me tâtais moi même.........

Hi Foster's Lab Sorry I just noticed your comment. Had totally missed it. Yes, the octave down is blended in with the fuzz or octave up. There is no way to hear only the octave down with this pedal. Cheers / Fredrik

Thank you very much! :) Cheers, Foster

Elle sonne terrible, mais elle mange des graves. Je la mets en parallèle avec un octaver, et je place une fuzz juste après, ça déchire... Mais vraiment ;)

it seems to be unisonic and no poly? its a pity to not have all the guitar harmonistical potential with such nice grains?
@PARASITSTUDIOEFFECTS2 жыл бұрын
It's an analog circuit, so the only way to make it polyphonic is to use a hex pickup on the guitar and to use 6 x the of circuit.
@lupat99552 жыл бұрын
as an option unison or polyson...i got schematics only using op amps waveforms? its more convenient to settle an amount of synth with more naturals effects but yes the polyphonie will be relativly synced, in phase...

how does it behave in front of a dirty amp (jcm 800 type)?

it reminds me about the korg guitar synth, long ago! (or i am old?) ; )

no strings on this? no thanks. Sounds mono

Sounds monophonic. : ((

it is monophonic
@paullobiando50078 жыл бұрын
+Fredrik Lyxzén I kind of thought so but I didn't see anything on the website that specifically said so. I had an EHX MicroSynth (and also a Subdecay Vitruvian Mod) that I kinda liked but I just couldn't cope with the fact that it was monophonic. This "Into The Unknown" seems quite interesting and at EU200 very reasonably priced. But for me, monophonic is a real problem.

+Paul Lobiando You need to go digital for poly guitar synths.

does it have a short sustain as EHX microsynth?
@creepingnet7 жыл бұрын
Not true, it would be possible to do analog - but it requires a divided (hexaphonic) pickup and x6 of everything, that's the short answer. The long answer is that when your guitar I run through this or the 0415 Synth, a Hex Inverter/Schmidth Trigger converts the signal of a single note from your guitar into a Square Wave signal, which is then fed into various other circuits that change the way it works. When you pick all six strings on a single guitar pickup, it can't isolate that single note, and either distorts or causes all sorts of interesting (or undesireable depending on what your MO is musically) to happen. The way to get polyphony using this kind of circuit would be to have at least SIX individual osciallator setups (one per string) and then after processing for all of these, an individual "summing amplifier" to re-mix the signal back into a monophonic signal to send through the rest of the pedals and to your amp. I'm toying with experimenting with this myself using a FirstAct SixString pickup I harvested out of a cheesy XBOX 360 Enabled First Act Guitar controller combo.

Can it be used as a simple Octave up/down pedal with out the synthesizer features on it?
@PARASITSTUDIOEFFECTS4 жыл бұрын
Not really, since it doesn't pass any clean signal and the octave down and up from this pedal is basically monophonic squarewave oscillators. But check out the U235 pedal. :)
@theshitshow63714 жыл бұрын
@@PARASITSTUDIOEFFECTS does the U235 have a similar operation like the Boss Octave pedal??
@PARASITSTUDIOEFFECTS4 жыл бұрын
@@theshitshow6371 Yes, it's similar to the boss OC-2. The tracking is about the same. You have the clean signal coming through and the ability to blend in the octave down signal, which can be one octave down, two octaves down or detuned (a fifth, between one and two octaves down). It also has a CV input (for connecting an LFO from a synth or modular setup) that will modulate the octave setting, making it jump between octaves.
