​Got Extinction, finally and then took about an hour to find your build location. Got set up but will be moving tomorrow. Been killed by 3 different corrupted that wandered in. Looking forward to seeing where you end up building. Also, found the dog on a roof, of all places, and 3 tek stegos in the desert biome, so they are on the map.​@@BemoGuinness

Glad you made it! My mutated and gened Mantis from SE is doing great. Im doing gamma element defenses and blue OSDs wielding a good pike. I always bring a balloon to send back the loot from OSDs . I also brought a bunch of ballistas and cannons I had laying around on other maps and used them in my main build to make it look very mad max. It looks awesome. Starting on the garage next.

What genes did you put on the Mantis? I was thinking about it but man there are just so much to the Gene system. Will have to try and remember the turrets when I find a place for the perma base as the ballista turrets would look very nice

@@BemoGuinness on the Mantis I have lvl 2 exotic bearing, lvl 2 mineral bearing, lvl 2 protective, lvl 1 high endurance and lvl 1 vampiric. I hunted the desert for hours looking for low levels to take traits since I didnt have unlimited worm horns to tame. Hatched about 50 eggs but got few mutations so gave it up. With leveling and imprints he has 40k health, 700 stam, 1.5k weight & 500 melee. With a high level pick, he one shots any resource. I named him GMO. I chose 51,72 2nd level for my main. It's flat, most of the tall shrubs can be cleared and no metal debris. Good light and a dynamite view for drops and meteor showers. Also, they added a bridge across the swamp to it makes it easy to get to the Southern wastelands. In ASE, I based in the coliseum and you had to go around or build a bridge.

You will need much bigger base to house all of those new structures, and just a simple garage takes a lot of space. Everyone's least favorite to tame Pegomastax, also got a update where he can now collect the Gacha crystals. Ps. Thanks for knowing that this map is still buggy on day one like it was in original ARK game. You won't also have any problems with getting Element on this map.

Yea I just got burned out in ASE restarting from scratch on each map. Might do something like that once all story maps are released though

The problem is they import existing maps into ue5 and then tweak it, they dont actually redo the entire map from scratch, so they end up importing a lot of the existing bugs, plus the new ones introduced by ue5. The next map lost colony will be very interesting because that one, wildcard is building from scratch in ue5

I still remember back before ASA launched when the devs were claiming the code for ASA was completely rewritten from the ground up but it's so ridiculously obvious that ASA is just a hastily ported version of ASE. The same bugs & quirks from ASE exist in ASA, map glitches are still the same across all the expansions. If they admitted it was just a port from ASE then they wouldn't be able to "justify" charging people for a whole new game with ASA.

Your bitterness is entirely understandable. This Extinction upgrade broke Dino Depot and several other mods. They still haven't released a new devkit allowing the mod developers to fix the newly introduced bugs. I can't return to the center because I'm breeding mantis, and I refuse to manage 80 mantis eggs every 20 minutes manually, heh. I love how WC is surprised by the Microsoft certification process every time they make a release. It's also never WC's fault-it's always someone else's.

Totally hear you on the Extinction launch issues, but for a totally different reason. Ever since it came out, I haven’t been able to get on my unofficial server for Aberration. Restarting the server, reloading saves, unloading mods, etc. does not help. Nitrado tech support isn’t even sure what’s going on, but it all broke when Extinction came out. 😢

@@BemoGuinnessarmodoggo is a passive tame …u drop mutton or kibble in stacks then it will start to sniff and take it …tadaaa…tamed as soon as you tame put it in companion mode on radial menu ..in companion mode it is immortal but if you don’t turn on companion mode it will die like other creatures and won’t even follow you long distance..

@@BemoGuinness so I was on aberration today prepping for Extinction and ark has broke tek teleporters. I can’t jump to my base in the red or blue zone without crashing. I’d say it happens around 60-70% of the time I use them. Never happened before the extinction release. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The skin works on the door but its not the door skin. Use the same one you used on the walls. At least that's what worked for me.

Extinction is my favorite map. I love the drops ,meks, and Managamrs😂. Only problem I have on my single player is it deleted all my mods. And I had a stack mod. Had to reinstall it but it wiped all of my resources and items

@ the button the you explain that you are able to transfer the inventory of one creature to another one (without getting off your tame) example is you were on your Mantis and you were use the button and transferred the items into your Ravager.

Ahhh that one... it's part of Cyber Structures. They have an Omni Multi Tool that has one of the options to transfer all the inventory of the selected creature/structure to another target location

I don't see it as "negativity". It's customer feedback on a map that was delayed at least three times for dubious reasons ("the platforms are closed for the holidays"... and you found out in December, WildCard ? Come on, be real), and that not only you were looking forward to but you paid for over a year ago. And it STILL doesn't work properly ? Not being annoyed would be weird imho. And I like that you also called out some of the other ARK content creators who make it sound like everything is perfect because they don't want to endanger their access to WildCard. It annoys me and I've unfollowed quite a few "big" KZbinrs in the past year for their hypocrisy. The same way they complain about Nitrado's exclusivity and a few months later get a Nitrado partner code, or complain about paid DLC creatures but hurry to publish guides in the hours following releases. No spine. No ethics. Just a race to the clicks and clout. That's why I like your stuff, man. You enjoy the game to the extent that it's enjoyable, but you don't put your standing with the devs and/or profit above calling things as you see them. You're a real one. On a completely different topic, I didn't see them when you went through the engrams... weren't there supposed to be new sizes of gates ?

Yea I mean the game engine definitely needed upgrading but a lot of things look/run so much worse than back in ASE like all of Aberration for instance
