In August 2021, I attended a women's circle to film a documentary for a 3-day, energetic healing retreat at the Harbour House in Peachland, BC. We went into self exploration, intention setting, journaling, sharing and listening, and communicated our pain, our challenges, our dreams, and we learned that we could all see ourselves in each-other. The facilitators and practitioners came together used their healing gifts such as hypnotherapy, sound-bath therapy, guided-meditation, aroma-therapy, circle work, singing, dancing, cacao ceremonies, reiki, NLP esoteric release and acupuncture. They shared their words of wisdom, a sacred space, good nutritious food and a lot of love, hugs and laughter. Together, this allowed a lot of emotional release for everyone.
I released pain, I was moved in ways that I did not expect, I was offered a sense of community and met new friends that I am very close with today. I saw the impact that the ceremonies made on the women that attended. I felt and experienced many changes within myself as well. Since then, I've filmed and attended a few more of these women's events, I've met more lifetime friends, business partners, I've done more healing and self exploration.
I dreamed to be a part of the movement that so many people are beginning to pay attention to. I am passionate about bringing people together for the intention of healing ourselves and finding who we are.
I am honoured to be part of and also watch the evolution of these retreats. It is unlike anything I've ever seen. Women opening up, releasing their pain and standing in their power.
The vision was to highlight some of the practices that are coming back and helping many people. I want to give back, and offer the same support and love that those women offered me, and I want to help them share their gifts that deserve to be appreciated. This is why I made this documentary.
