It's really not fair. Up in NJ I gotta run no less then 20 miles just to get the depth I need to even try to target mahi. Last Aug I did get a 26lb and a 21lb in 90ft only 14 miles off AC.

I was fishing 60 miles out in the gulf two weeks ago and finally came across some mahi. They wouldn’t touch anything we put in front of them, they probably hung out around the boat for an hour. But I’ve caught them in the Atlantic right off of Fort Lauderdale and they were aggressive. They would eat anything, I think I even caught one with just a hook with no bait. Is there a difference between the gulf and Atlantic side?

Man that's tough! Usually cut squid chunks for a chum followed by a hook n line with a chunk! TNT is prob what you needed. LOL

@@ericdavi1231 I've seen them act like that around the full moons. Live bait or really fast moving soft plastics have worked for me in those cases.
