It's not that Rogan's show is the substitute, but the long form interview/podcast style, which he helped popularize. That and the internet making independent journalism more readily available and financially viable. Those are the substitutes everybody has been flocking to over the last decade and what has been slowly killing the old broadcast tv model of business.

If all these strategic reserves do come about, it feels like that would all but guarantee Bitcoin's role as a a digital gold, meaning Satoshi's vision of it being a currency would be more or less dead.
