At one point, I wanted to move to Atlanta mainly so I could attend his church. Now that he is retired from the church, that reason for going to Atlanta has disappeared. The Testimony of the Spirit BY OSWALD CHAMBERS October 22 ❤ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit. - Romans 8:16 We are in danger of getting into a negotiating mindset with God, of trying to haggle him into giving us the testimony of the Spirit before we’ve done what he tells us to do. *Why isn’t the Spirit testifying with my spirit?” you ask. “Why doesn’t God reveal himself to me?* The answer is that he won’t, not as long as you are in his way, refusing to abandon yourself to him. The instant you do abandon, God begins to testify to himself. He can’t testify to you-that is, to your human nature. Rather, he testifies to his own nature inside you, the nature you received when you were baptized by the Holy Spirit. If you were to receive the testimony of the Spirit before the Spirit was a reality inside you, it would end in sentimental emotion. But the moment you stop debating and complete the spiritual transaction, the moment you ask for the Holy Spirit and receive him, God gives you the testimony. When you abandon intellectual reasoning and argument and hand yourself in faith to God, you will be amazed at your impertinence in having kept him waiting so long. If you are debating the question of whether God can deliver you from sin, either let him do it or tell him he can’t. Don’t come at him with evidence, quoting this or that expert. Instead, try Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened.” Come, when you are burdened with doubt. Ask, if you know you are evil: “How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:13). The simplicity that characterizes commonsense decisions is easy to mistake for the testimony of the Spirit. But the Spirit testifies only to his own nature and to the work of redemption, never to our human reason. If we try to make him testify to our reason, it is no wonder we remain in darkness and perplexity. Fling your doubting and debating overboard, trust in God, and his Spirit will give the testimony.

Hey man I saw the name of your profile. This isn’t to attack you man we are saved by grace through faith that is the truth but I have to say once saved always saved isn’t. I know this has been a major debate for a long time and has been talked about over the years online here on KZbin. But please looks at Revelation when Jesus is speaking about the certain church he talks about the Lukewarm church and how he would spew them out. He talked in Revelation 3:5 to the one who overcomes he wouldn’t blot their name out of the book of life. I believe once we are in Heaven and our life hear is done yea if you died in Jesus or where rapture your his forever. But if once saved always saved was true why would there be a warning of someone name being taken out of the book of life if they took words from the prophecy. I know people may say well this is works salvation no im not trying to get people to fall from grace this isn’t it. We do need to repent from our sins though and live for Jesus. Im not saying everyone who promotes OSAS loves sin but we need to repent. There is a reason why Paul in Philippians 2:12 said work out your salvation with fear and trembling if it really is OSAS what is there to fear. I know I’m not better then you man or anybody but I don’t want this doctrine deceiving people please look at Galatians 5, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Hebrews 10:26 yes I know people have had the excuse those where for Hebrew believers and not us if that’s the case why is it in the New Testament. I’m sorry for this seriously long message please pray on this may God bless you man.

God has taken bad relationships out of my life recently and I feel the Holy Spirit, and God is healing me from many years of bad relationships. John 3:16 Explains our heavenly Father love for us. His love was demonstrated through the death of our Lord and Savior on the cross of Calvary. Forgiveness and Salvation came at a price. Wow I was JUST thinking about how I really really enjoy dr Charles Stanley but that I wish I could hear more of his older sermons! Thank you Jesus God bless this ministry! This is really the only devoted teaching I listen too, I’m sure I’ll branch out to others soon but I’ve been hooked since before I got saved and I think that’s why it hold a place in my heart.
