So important to speak and listen to the Lord everyday. A loved one died. And Almost a month had passed by with NOT a tear, I didn’t know that I was holding in. During prayer one day I heard “grieve”. That day at the funeral I let it out. Pray and listen daily.

I would say even though I’ve sunk into a dark pit sometimes, even after becoming a follower of Christ, by God’s perfect loving grace, He offered His staff to pull me out. In those moments I couldn’t pray like I had been praying. Yes my heart was open and I desperately wanted to know that He would help me and heal my wounded heart. To not fall further into that pit of disappointment, hurt etc Hallelujah we have a God Who doesn’t expect us to have everything in a tidy bundle! That we don’t have to meet a set a criteria in Christ Jesus. Thank you Lord for Your unconditional love and being our Living Hope! ♥️

Dr. Stanley is the absolute best at hermeneutically sound life application for trauma survivors ❤️ A lot of young, seeker sensitive speakers today try to do this and fail, because their exegetical skills are so poor and it’s become trendy to downplay the importance of doctrine. But this teaching is legitimate Biblical life application, not a vaguely Christianized Ted talk. Dr. Stanley really helped me turn a corner in my life!

This is what I did. Wilted, never offered my ideas. What changed me is Jesus speaking to me. He was holding me. I kept this secret. I had to. He held me often. I hid years and year, but church, singing in choir taught me. For years I ate my feelings because I had gotten destroyed. I was healed and became a miracle at Strongsville United Methodist Church. according to a pastor friend. I still have to be careful of food but I’ve learned Jesus is with me through it all.

Man, this hit me hard... I knew my dad as a subordinate knows his superior (my Dad was military), but not as "father," and I think I've been treating God in the same way - always asking Him where I need to go and what I need to do, but not about who He is and how He sees me. A part of me really wants to know, but I struggle so much with the very concept of fatherhood that it scares me. I've talked to counselors before, but I haven't been able to make any progress - I know because the few times I've talked to my dad since I surrendered to Jesus I still feel like a subordinate (not even a child) talking to a superior.
@servantofMostHighELELON3 жыл бұрын
That's not good. Is your Dad a child of God like yourself? If not you should talk with him about truth and the joy of the love of Jesus Christ
@shinigamimiroku37233 жыл бұрын
@@servantofMostHighELELON That's just it - I wouldn't even know who Jesus is if not for him. For all his faults he recognized that we needed to have at least some connection to God. Unfortunately for him I didn't meet Jesus until about ten years ago, after trying to live "my own life" away from the continued hurt that existed between my parents. He's been through a lot of hurt in the ensuing years, but I don't know if even he recognizes the truth of God's love, because he left the church to "explore his roots" in Judaism (his birth mom has Hebrew blood), and as a result seems to have lost connection to Jesus (if he ever had it). And to be frank I don't think I can even broach the subject to him because I still feel that sense of inferiority when I talk to him, and so I haven't done so in a few years.

@@shinigamimiroku3723 I understand but what could his reaction be other than pleased that you did find truth and if he has not show him. @@servantofMostHighELELON I appreciate it. It just feels so difficult because I also have undiagnosed mental problems (I can't afford to go to a doctor and get treatment) that gets in the way. I believe I've forgiven my dad, but in the normal course of my day it doesn't even cross my mind to call or email even the people I'm closest to, let alone those who are distant. It's not that I don't love them, it just doesn't happen; I typically only do so when they call or text me (and yeah, I know these all sound like excuses, but I have no other way to explain it). I've never thought like a "normal" person, and I don't think I ever can... Wish I could, though.

If I was talking with mine God let my Dad George Sterling Kelley Sr. Soul rest with you in Heaven I'd say Dad we are a creation of God not to be forgotten by all in the abyss of the pit. God wants ALL His children with Him in Heaven where as beautiful as earth is just imagine what's in store up there with the Creator of everything there ever was and will be. If you're in pain you're not alone. If it seems like the world is crushing you you're not alone. If you've wasted ten years you're not alone. If your future is uncertain you're not alone. If you're thinking of killing yourself you're not alone. If nothing seems to work out you're not alone. If you're at your limit and you're ready to throw in the towel you're not alone. When you're alone you're NOT ALONE! If you relate to anything I just wrote you're not alone. I'm right here with you and so is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Everyday is ONE day closer. One day closer. Lord Jesus! Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
