One of the things that INTPs value is our ability to be objective. For me that means trying to be balanced and develop my other functions as far as I can and problem solve how to accommodate/social engineer the other types of be more effective at communicating with them in a language they can receive. A beautiful thing about Ti/Ne is when our strengths aren't the right tool for what we need in a situation we can adapt to the need in ways other types can't. I think this approach along with blowing off social apprehension to be authentic has helped me develop my Fe more than some. Getting beyond worrying what other's think without having the chip on our shoulders that I've seen in some that have given up trying to fit in has been my secret to avoiding both pits of trying to blend and becoming a hermit.

I learned to chameleon socially a while back. As an INTP, it is one of the most exhausting things. It's the same with emotions. It's not that I don't have them. It's just that they don't always make sense. Like, I can be watching something, like a movie or something and something on the screen resonates with a memory from x timeframe ago. It' doesn't even have to be a sad emotion - simply remembering the emotion while watching whatever it is that triggered the thought process: the remembered emotion is so strong and illogical that I cannot process it. Segment Fault... Absentmindedly I will wipe tears from my eyes, wondering how they got there and be slightly irritated at the whole process.

"They're always thinking." - My brain never shuts up, it's always thinking about something, even in the background, jumping from one thing to another. Even when I try to stop thinking, the most I can go for is 10 seconds. When I try to sleep, I always have a bit of a fight with my brain - we both know we need it, yet it won't shut up, despite knowing full well what the consequences are; I always lose this fight, every damn night. 😔 Still, I wouldn't change it for the world.

Super frustrating. I found therapy in my 30s was great and helped me to be more balanced emotionally. As much as we can be described as robots, I feel it's because we're too emotional/sensitive and do all we can do to keep that shit at bay so therapy is a good way to satisfy our need to know how stuff works while actually doing the work on ourselves.. But look at me.. rambling.

About researching new ideas and never implementing them. I have read few studies showing you can learn something as efficiently as someone who is physically learning it by just researching/watching tutorials and imagining doing it yourself. To fact check it I researched a lot about Arch Linux and watched many tutorials and imagined myself setting it up and using it and when I switched to Arch from windows I had no problems using it ( It’s supposedly one of the hardest OS and I hadn’t used Linux before ). I still wasn’t convinced so I learned guitar for 1 month with this method and tried to play it, I kind of played it like someone who was taught for 1 month would have played it but not great as I had expected. Although this is limited to physical skills and not remembering factual information but remembering factual information that piques someone’s interest is already easy

All that "people" line is on point. Delirious need to be alone (but not isolated, I like instant messages but my phone is always on silent mode). I've tried to "people". Really I've tried to mingle. It always ends in huge disappointment and the feeling that I'm gently put aside. Especially now that I'm a grown-up, it's not like kids who bluntly say to your face "we're not friends anymore" but close. Fair enough. I tried, not just for the sake of trying. When I think about the difference between myself (INFP) and my INTP friend I think about this moment in the year after high school, where I was trying to emotionally vent to him about all the bullying I had recieved in high school. My INTP friend tried to share my frustration by claiming he hated a student called Jacob just as much as I hated my bullies. However, when he went into the specifics he was the one instigating the friction between him and Jacob, while Jacob just wanted to be left alone. So my INTP friend was trying to empathize with me by comparing kids who were bullying me to someone that he was bullying. Then I said that I would steer clear of my bullies and not cause any trouble unless provoked. He responded by claiming that if he saw Jacob he wouldn't be able to control his rage and would have to beat the hell out of him. At the time I had no idea what the hell I was listening to. Listening to this video I realize what he must have been thinking in order to say that. He must have been thinking 'Sam's full of anger so I need to be even MORE full of anger.' So I can relate to what you're saying about INTP not understanding emotions and trying to blend in like a chameleon by saying 'oh yeh, I am also like that.' I'm still great friends with this person by the way.

But having to restart halfway through is surely more costly than just waiting for us to find the answer or have the worker bees waste resources in experimentation. It’s dumb. Same, during my entrance exam preparation days I often refused to do the questions if they are from a chapter I didn't learned fully, even if those questions are easy and I could be able to do it I still won't then loose marks but I would still not care about those results

INTP here. I know myself well and admit it all. I've been one long enough to have laughed through this entire video. 😂 My husband has been telling me this for years. Thanks for the laughs.

I am an INTP. Or at least I connect less with other personality types. But, it's not that I don't want to argue with people in real life because I am scared and afraid. But it's because I don't have the data in hand to make the argument valid. I have to research to make sure I can win the argument with facts the other party can validate. :D

Highly accurate, yet I question the validity, like a cold reading in the horoscopes of astrology,human attributes that could apply to anyone! Except this is uncanny/strange,like something's are just too good to be true!

Yes. I, for one, look forward to the day that I can upload my consciousness to the cloud. Mostly so I can Google things faster, but also so I can slow time down to a crawl and Google things _even faster._ *_I AM SPEED, BTICH_* Edit: that code you showed at the end is just really poorly written JavaScript. The guy who wrote it needs to find the Enter button on his keyboard. Maybe it was broke, IDK. Or maybe it was code golf and he was saving characters.

Ne could also stand for "Neverending Explanation" .. Go on just ask your friendly local INTP about something abstract, like life the Universe and everything. You'll soon see how accurate it is. "People" as a verb lol.

I also think as an INTP When I am talking to someone I just make a whole sentence in my brain and I think I said it loud but I didn't. So people can't understand what I am trying to say so it gets really difficult to make people know what I am trying to say if you know you know other thing is I do stumble a lot as an intp are also forget people's name so much in every 2 seconds I have to ask them what's your name😅😅😅
@garbageMoonkey583420 күн бұрын
I relate to the names part; I was good at it when younger, now I can't remember a name even if it's very important to do so. (ENTJ trying to figure out why I feel attracted to INTPs 'quiet' nature -- it's simply weirdly confusing/attractive).

The types are not an excuse...they give you legs to stand on for change...or not if you are a loser. INTP's just have a harder time...not impossible (with the exceptional example, of course).
