Great video, thanks! Subscribed for more of the good stuff.. What has been bugging me for too long about this is why does the centrosome look so weird. Why isn't it a vesicular structure, and why does it look like a pair of soda cans? What I'm asking is, what's the purpose of the the 90 degree angle and the 3x9 microtubular arrangement? Do those individual microtubules extend outwards as single strands? If so, are these the same microtubules involved in cell division?

According to this video the centrosome is just a combination of 2 centrioles which differs from other sources which describe it as also having a protein matrix around these centrioles.
