i had icp with my last 3 babies, it was very scary. i had to research and basically diagnose myself. when i fist had it, i told them, no you need to test me for icp as i am unusually itchy all over and it is not normal. they rolled their eyes at me bc i did my own research. anyway my levels where very high at 167 on the total bile acid test. i had to be induced at 36 weeks, baby had a rocky start in nicu with ventilators and jaundice etc… but he is healthy now.

also everytime ive complained of pain in my upper right area i would be dismissed and told it is unrelated or treated as if it was in my head. the pain was unbearable at times and i had nothing to cope with the pain, i needed pain meds. my bp was always very high due to this and i kept getting preeclampsia scares, it was just high bc of the pain that the doctors were ignoring.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience...and glad he is good now. Unfortunately sometimes the patient is the last to be listened to.

My son is 17 now and I was a young mom at 22. I had this and my doctors just would tell me to take benadryl. I finally refused to leave the doctors office and forced the dr. To get me in later.

My sister had this and had a TERRIBLE ITCHY rash. She also has hep c.(I do not) She had to be induced at 34 weeks because baby was in danger. It was very scary for her. So, my question is....would it be more likely for me to have this because my sister had it? I have been getting very itchy the last couple days. I have a rash of skin colored raised bumps on my belly, legs, arms, breasts, and back. My hands and feet are not itchy at all. I had very bad upper right quadrant pain for weeks. Every time I took a breath I had unbearable pain in my right side under my ribs and into my shoulder, neck, and collar bone area. I told my obgyn and she said might ne a clot and to go to the er. Well I never ended up going cause I'm already on lovenox. And the pain went away after about a month. I also have factor 5 Leiden and mthfr which have me taking 80 mg of lovenox daily. I do have a history of dvt with my 1st pregnancy. Should I be worried about this and if my ob says puppps do I insist on having the blood work to check my liver and bile like you stated in this video? Sry for such a long comment.
