I have 2 questions: 1. you mentioned the market share by IAA and copart is 80% and copart owns 40% of it.. also the market cap of copart is 33B ..this didnt make much sense if IAA is only 5.6B? 2. what is the total market cap of this business in the market copart is playing? meaning what is the room left for copart to grow?

As far as I'm aware, industry size is typically reported in the aggregate revenue business operating in that industry generate, so looking at market caps of companies isn't really helpful here. Based on around 40% of the market share and 2022 revenue of $3.5 B, it looks like the industry Copart operates in is around $8-9 B.

What about full safe driving? Chris Mayer says that would have a profound affect on Copart. He doesn't think that is a threat any time in the near future. I don't know. I am a little hesitant to bet against Elon Musk. Still Copart appears to have a great monopoly for the moment.

Self driving cars like flying cars does not exist. Even if it did it would need to pass through a lot of regulation which wouldn't happen overnight or even a few years. Don't worry about it.

That’s a load of horse crap the dcf model is basically looking at a stock as a bond and it’s hard to do in your head 10 years of growth not only that growing sg&a and how it affects the bottom line. There’s 3 different main ways to value a stock some it’s easy you can do in your head others like this compounders much harder.
