This is the first informative video about inktense pencils and blocks that I have ever watched. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this series. Thanks, Karen.

Janet Baker That is why I chose to do it. There seemed to be a definite lack of videos using them, especially with regard to art journaling. Hope you enjoy the next one too.

Fun journey and very good information. I have the pencils and I do like them. I may need the blocks for Christmas. Thanks for sharing.

Linda Lapotka there are 7 videos in the Extensive Inktense series. You may find video 5-7 very interesting as they talk about how the Inktense Blocks play with other mediums that we use in art journaling. Will definitely help you get your money's worth out of any Inktense product- blocks or pencils.

I prefer using blocks to pencils. I don’t color as much as use like water colors. More videos coming up with me using. K

Hi, I'm here! watched all your Intense Inktense videos 2 (?) years ago, but I was just too new to MMA to be able to utilize what you taught, or even remember what you taught. Soooooo, I'm back!

I also put labels on each of my Inktense blocks. However, what I did was paint the colors on the blocks rather than number them. So now I don’t have to refer to a color chart.

I reinforce flimsy trays by centering (lengthwise) and gluing a strip of wide velvet Christmas ribbon, leaving enough for "pulls" on the side. It's not like I'm going to make a wreath :) Derwent does put their colors in numerical order which helps me a lot. I have my Inktense pencils in a pencil book and refer to my swatch book. Thanks for the lessons! Oh...one thing no one ever mentions is that because of the liner pencil, you get an extra color in the blocks.

Like you, my first love is watercolor, but it presents a couple of real challenges for me Journaling. I have a large Dylusions Journal. The paper doesnt take water well without Gesso. I did a page with my Prima water pastels though and I love it. But what watercolor could I put in without having to seal? SO- Inktense is the perfect answer. I just gesso'ed in a piece, I use clear, and it did NOT move! I will watercolor paint, always, but I am just learning and I feel Inktense will help me to learn because of their permanency. I can now do my art and decopage it in. I dont care for stencils and over-use of textures, I just want to collage my own pieces. I also have severe back pain and am still looking for a comfortable way to paint for an hoour or two at a time. I worked so fast with the blocks today it was FUN! I cannot wait for the next subject to inspire me. I will work more on today's painting when it is overnight dried. I like to allow acrylic poymers to fully cure before working them. Th

Off topic, it must have sucked when you went to edit the video and realised you filmed upside down! Great hints and tips, I love the pencils and am deciding on the blocks. I appreciate you taking the time to produce this lesson.

What I do with this product is that I use with stencils and put them into Lacy Stiffy Stuff or CPE Stiffy Felt in White so I can paint on it and then add beads to it, as a background. I use this with bead embroidery. I love the product, the Intense Blocks are permanent the pencils are not as permanent and works best with paper. I love the product any questions you have I guess Karen and myself can help you with it.. Love your videos.
@KarenBurchill8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for offering to answer any questions. How you are using them is vastly different from what I do. Some use them to create beautiful watercolory paintings. I love them so, for their versatility and for the reason they are mostly permanent. Love to see some of your applications.

+LeAnn Kirkpatrick yes actually I do. This was one of my first videos. I have since learned how to flip the videos and edit. I feel there is still lots of information in the video that people can learn from so I figured that having it upside down wouldn't take away from that.

The price is now $160
@KarenBurchill Жыл бұрын
If you break it down to price per color it puts it in perspective. Also , these last a long time. Amazon does put them on great sales once or twice a year. Plus you can buy them as singles in art stores so can buy only those colors you want. I got the 72 pack but the 24 pack does the job. K

Ive had the 36 set for years and they still look pretty new. The price has increased but just like you said you can just buy open stock and pick the colors you want. Their not really that expensive buying indiviuals
@Skinnychelle487 жыл бұрын
The colors in the 36 set of blocks are the same as the 36 set of pencils right? I'm going to get the blocks to use for larger area. Have the pencils and I lovvvvvvve them!!
@KarenBurchill7 жыл бұрын
Yes I have the pencils and blocks and the numbers are the same. Go to the Derwent site to double check just in case they changed something. I use my blocks more than the pencils as I do more mixed media and have larger areas....the pencils were more for watercoloring work. Enjoy the fun. Karen

Rosalyn keep checking as the price can change considerably. I got my set of 72 blocks for 50 Canadian so you should be able to get a great deal in time. If you put it on your wish list you will get updates on the price. Hope that is helpful. Karen
