If my metal working goes from 3003-H14 0.032" up to 16 gauge steel, should I get both the medium and heavy air hammer units? If I just bought the heavy air hammer, would I loose the finesse on thinner aluminum forming?

Wish you had demonstrated how it works with some samples of results..

How about showing what it can do? The fact I found your video means I know what the tool is and know the different dies!

I probably won't get a response since this video is so old but, can this machine be used for shaping hot, high carbon metal?

+Necromedes Yes, some of us are doing hot work with this machine. Frequent water spray on the dies is needed to avoid drawing the temper out. H13 dies could be made to further the hotwork range, but then the air motor and lower die pocket would be in danger. There is one fellow (that I know of) working .250" steel with this machine, using our #6 air motor.

The stroke is always very short - safety design built in, so you can work your fingers right in close. H13 is a standard hotwork die steel that is common in smithing. Yes, dies can be made from that steel, or combinations of steels.

Sounds like I won't be able to use it for my work then. I intend on flattening and stretching hot bar stock. Oh well. Thanks for answering my questions.
