I find it much easier to e6000 the cab down to the backing material and work in groups of 4. it eliminates the need for counting all together.

This is my first time to see any of your videos and this is an old machine so watching for me, was like a skipping record,however , this was absolutely gorgeous,you could turn that into a brooch.My goodness the ladies at my church would be drooling for that kind of thing if they like that kind of thing. It was very stylish and looked very expensive. A wonderful job.Thank You.

Absolutely beautiful. I was always so afraid to try...it looked so hard & I expect perfection from myself. Many years ago they werent using any type of fabric or so. Then I started stiffening wool felt and trying to make them that way (many years ago ) because I knew their was a better way or easier way....then covering the back in real thin leather. Thank heaven for stiff stuff or stiffened felt 😃. I basically just been doing a basic design for many years, but after watching your video by accident today.....I am going to try your way. I hope all goes well...because your pattern and work is gorgeous. I love, love, love it. YEAH SOMETHING NEW TOO!

Yes the really inexpensive ones tend to break (snap), and the English needles should not snap. Even so, they are still relatively inexpensive (packs of 20 for $1.99 or so).

Would have been a good idea to show how to finish it with the peyote as not everyone is as experienced as some might be and wouldn't have a clue as to how you went about that little task....to finish the peyote. Also if you are going to do a project how about finishing it with the bail and not leave us in limbo with it. geeze

I enjoyed your video and thank you as I just received some delicas from my wonderful sister-in-law. As a rank amateur I attempted my first beading on a cabochon. Had trouble getting the second row to curve up over the sides of the cab, even when pulling tight. Can you tell me what I have done wrong? Using size 11 delicas in two colors, one is a matte, the other a crystal; wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Thank you for this tutorial. I am very new to bead embroidery and I have a doubt: you pick up and sew through 3 seed beads each time, how can you be sure to obtain an even number of seed beads to work the peyote stitch? What if The beads are in odd number? Thank you for the answer. Regards, Antonella

Hi Antonella, You're correct! This is an old tutorial I did years ago, and I should have used two Delicas at a time to ensure the even count! Nice catch! 😃👍🏼

She is going directly through where she went through the first time, back 3 beads. I prefer to backstitch by putting 3 beads on and sewing back through the last one. It does require having a good idea what the size of one bead is though. If you go back through all three beads you can use the thread on the back to see where you need to come up. Since it's covered you don't see it it's not crucial if you go back 1, 2 or all three beads, one is just a tiny bit smoother.

Hi. I have one more question I was hoping you could help me with. Once the time comes to glue the Ultrasuede onto the stiff stuff, what type of glue should I use? Would E-6000 work well as it does with attaching the cab to the stiff stuff, or should I use a different type of glue? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Shawn
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Shawn, yes you can use the E-6000 for gluing the Ultrasuede as well. E-6000 is great because you can use it for nearly every adhesive application, rather than having to stock numerous different glues.

Hi Allie. I have a quick question. If I wanted to start the bottom base row of the peyote with 8/0 delicas and then transition up with 11/0's (sort of like when transitioning to 15/0 rounds to pull the work tighter), how would I do that? Would I use two 11/0 delicas at a time between the 8/0's as Im working up the peyote? Thanks for any help you can give me. Shawn
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 10 жыл бұрын
Probably, the only problem between 8/0 and 11/0 delicas is that they are significantly different in size, so you might need to experiment a bit.

+Potomac Bead Company: Sorry as I was not clear. I want to make a necklace for a 12-inch doll using a quite small cabochon for the necklace. Can cabochons be found that would be appropriately sized for this purpose? And can the same technique be used? Thank you.
@Potomacbeadco
@Potomacbeadco 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Brenda, yes the same technique could be used, and there are smaller cabochons available. We don't tend to stock a whole lot of really small cabs, but we have some druzy agate cabochons in about 10mm, as well as crystal rivoli in 10mm, either of which might work for that purpose.
