A "proof" does not require "hard drives" or even hardware of any kind. It should be explainable with physical law with pen and paper. It takes TIME for a human brain to "solve" math problems. Therefore, proof of work could theoretically run on pen and paper and it would work just the same. Proof of work simply proves that the "next" block has come AFTER the previous block. In other words, it proves TIME has elapsed. Because just about any physical process requires TIME. That is essentially it. Proof of burn links itself to proof of work. However, I have no idea what physical law "proof of space" is pretending to link itself to.
