thanks for the video. most videos i'm seeing say that glass is a pain in the butt, heavy, and risks breakage. i think i'll go plastic for now.

I have both and I use them for different reasons. I still like glass if you're careful with it.. But I use a big mouth Bubbler that's easier to clean... I also really like the fermonster which is lighter and plastic but still less prone to scratches. I have all of my recommended equipment now in one place here: www.amazon.com/shop/cityscapebrewing

Great video!! Don't forget to have your brew day log so you can record your numbers so you can correct and tweak for subsequent batches.

Thanks. Yep I keep a written log with notes for every batch and put those notes in Brewers friend as well. I rarely brew the same exact batch so, I always look back and change things up a bit.

You mentioned the two different sanitizers. Which do you prefer? I got the Northern Brewer Essentials starter kit which I've started my first batch with. I already had the STC 1000 and a chest freezer that I had converted into a refrigerator for my camper that I have turned into a fermentation chamber. It's working perfect. I'm thinking that when I try to pry that plastic lid off of the bucket, I'm going to want one of those Big Mouth Bubblers with their easier to get off lids! lol

Yes the big mouth bubblers are the way to go... Easy to clean and the kids come off easy. The harness that I use helps hold the lid down too. I use the yellow lighter colored starsan sanitizer. The darker color one is just lower foam that I use in my keg and carboy cleaner but needs more contact time for sanitizing too

Super helpful! Just curious, what are your thoughts on bottle cleaning and drying racks? I’m sure it’s worth the investment, but as a seasoned homebrewer I’d like to hear your thoughts on what has worked best for you.

I actually used to put my bottles in a bathtub with OxiClean fragrance free. I'd let them soak for a while and then rinse them with regular tap water shaking them out. I have a drying rack for bottles. Then I would sanitize them in the sink individually, letting them soak 1 minute, then back on the drying rack and fill them immediately after. I also sanitize the caps
